And we actually have law on our side, rather than just flat out "Fuck off". Cannalan constitution allows postponing elections during the state of emergency, which war counts as one.
As opposed to us- Forenian law clearly states that if a foreign dictator asks us to mess with our democracy, we are legally required to do so.
...
That was sarcasm. I thought I should clarify, since Forenian politics are, ah, 'eccentric' enough that that could be true.

Well, Asea has a point. And more to the point we've only got the communists to turn to if we leave our alliance with the germans. Make no mistake; that alliance is a two-way street and unless we fulfil our side of the bargain it won't benefit us. Because the communists are going to be the exact same.
We did fulfill our end of what the bargain had been agreed to be: we provided them with turbojet technology that they did heavily use. They didn't provide aid in return.

Their political demands were never the deal, but as usual the NFPP is fine with the Nazis stepping all over us, because they want fascism and becoming a vassal state is fine by them if it achieves that. This is why we need Forenian Independence! Hitler needs us, folks, but so long as we let our voice be dominated by those who would see Hitler walk over us, he'll never learn!

Or maybe we should just primarily start doing business with the Japanese instead. They don't give a shit what our government is.

The japanese would likely ask the same of us. The Russians would ask the same of us. Better dishonour to death at the hands of cannala!

Well, technically neither side promised anything. Quoting the line:

Quote from: Battle Report 11: Winter 1940
Additionally, both alliances are interested in receiving a sample of your new jet aircraft.

So neither alliance actually promised to give anything in return. Yet, as demonstrated, Cannala is far better Ally than untrustworthy Forenia and thus Cannalan allies are more willing to aid it. We scratch their back, they scratch ours.

Meanwhile, you tell your allies to bugger off  ;D Maybe not ally with a power mad dictator calling for genocide?

Doubtful. Why in the world would Japan actually care about our form of government? They have other aren't motivated by ideology at all, and they aren't fascist anyway. They just want to win the war so they can have a fuckton of new places under their control, and I'm fairly sure we're outside of their planned Greater East Co-Prosperity Sphere anyway.

Japan is fascist and motivated by ideology though. I mean, you are right in the sense that they would give jack shit about our government but, the point still stands.

Anyway, this happened in the discord. Turn actions have been omitted because I'm not copying all that.

Anyway, why wait for the Battle Report when you can be the Battle Report?

Your generals have found a map to secret treasure, after carefully deducing that the art on their cardboard box looked vaguely similar to Forenia. Now, they gather their forces for a decisive strike to capture the treasure, said to be a weapon of immense power.

Forenia has a small base on this tiny island, as well as a naval detachment and air power. Cannalla has a powerfull fleet and landing force

Canala : 100% forces
Forenia : 100 % force

@somemildmanneredidiot  Your naval cannon opens fire on the enemy. It kills a few Canallan vessels
Canala : 98% forces
Forenia : 100 % force

Victorias move in to bombard the shore areas, destroying the coastal fortifications. However, Haast aircraft sweep down from the skies, launching their deadly torpdo's. After repeated assaults, both Victorias and shore installation are destroyed.
Canala : 95% forces
Forenia : 98 % force
Quote
Forenia deploys Paratroopers by Ice giants. However, since the enemy is currently a naval force , most paratroopers end up dropping in the ocean and drown. Both Forenia and Canalla deploy their jet aircraft, in a gigantic stalemate. All Icegiants end up in the sea.

Fornia : 90% forces
Canalla : 92% forces
Quote
Canalla sends for their Walrusses. However, due to arbitrary rules about only deploying 1 design per person, they arrive empty. However, each Walrus contains a single clown car, from which additional units may spawn.

Forenia retaliates with Overcompensator fire. As the guns have already been destroyed, Forenian soldiers bravely roll the 300 mm shells towards the enemy. Canallan soldiers have to jump over the rolling rounds. Forenia slowly gains the upper hand, having already scored a strike.

In the seas, Forenias Haasts are having trouble with Canallan anti-air cruisers. While the Haast is armored against anti air, no Forenian pilot can resist the opportunity to show this off by flying straight through the flak. Shortly thereafter, they discover that resistant does not mean immune.

Forenia : 82%
Cannalla : 80%
Quote
Having landed on the beaches, Canalla prepares to deploy their raiders and Bull tanks. The Bull Tanks have but one issue, they do not fit in a Clown car. As such, miniaturized versions are deployed.

Raiders, assisted by adorable 1/10 sized Bull tanks storm the beaches. A forenian 300 mm shell rolls against them, and bounces. Forenia reacts rapidly, by firing of all it's emergency plans at once.

Reckless Effects deploy swarms of paratroopers upon the beaches, Rocket artillery fires all it's got, and Haast aircraft make low passes to tear apart the ground forces with their autocannons. A series of enormous death balls rolls through the chaos, of a new experimental rubber coated "stealth" design.

The death balls bounce against the Canallan tanks, crushing Forenian infantry. Even so, the masses of artillery and air support ensures that the first beach invasion is thrown back.

Forenia : 76%
Canalla 74%
Quote
In their hour of need, Forenia calls upon their most numerous unit, the basis of their entire navy. Their call echoes through the Ocean, through the Seabed. Deep below the waves, something shudders, something wakes. It has lain here for some time , but now it rises.

Ships, destroyed in battle, bad weather or by a particularly hard sneeze all arise, forming an enormous ghost fleet of Archers. The horde pushes onwards, towards the island, passing in front, above and below the suprised Canalla fleet. They line up in front of the island , train their guns on the Canallan fleet.

In complete unison, the entire Ghostly Archer fleet sinks, forming a near impenetrable blockade around the island.

The suprised Canallas release the Kraken's in response. These intelligent and helpfull cephalopods immediatly start picking up ships and lifting them over the blockade. The Forenians on the island realize, and grab their trusty, AC-18 autocannons. The aim and open fire, watch as the guns open fire on the innocent sea creatures.

A hundred flowers land in the sea. Surprised Artotskans inspect their ammunition, finding it perfectly ordinary. Some hippy must have sabotaged their guns.Their are interrupted by a devastating siren.

Goals changed: Prepare for Blood Eagle
Quote
Blood eagle has been unleashed, and now all must face the consequences. Some prepare to flee, heading towards the secret socialist sewer utopia (it's easy, just follow the signs). Getting in proves to be harder, especially when the secret question is an interogation on Mark's Das Kapital, a work that neither the Forenian Socialist party nor an Forenian soldier has even seen.

Many Canallan's try to flee as well, blowing up their conquest celebration balloons and tying them to their ships. Slowly, the Canallan fleet lifts from the Sea and starts to drift away with the wind. A sudden storm engulfs them, later leading to the first Naval invasion of switzerland.

Other takes notes and try to copy their enigmatic neighbour Vlanlados. Since the GM does not know anything about Vlanlados, they too vanish in ignorance.

On the island itself, strange things are happening. A Canallan soldiers attempt to procreate with the planet, which only results in some very embarrassing ant bites. A mad Forenian inventor hands out  activated and working pocket nukes, forcing all those who recieve them to keep holding the trigger down less they blow themselves up. Their vigil will be eternal

But not all flee. The Forenian fleet, fashionably late (certainly not avoiding the Canallan fleet, no sir) deploys waves upon waves of jets, fighters and bombers. Explosions ripple across the island, but it is futile, for nothing can stop blood Eagle when it fully awakens.

Poketwo deploys his signature weapon. Since everyone knows what it is, it's effects are not described.

BLOOD EAGLE IS AWAKENING.

FLEE WHILE YOU CAN

THE EAGLE WILL FLY
Quote
Canallan forces swarm over Switzerland, pushing over Alphine cows, leaving chocolate bars in the sun to melt and defacing quaint mountain vistas. Their seemingly unstoppable advance is stopped for complete success by a suprisingly violent clock. It's sharpened beak can kill between 1 and 12 Canallan soldiers, depending of the time of the day.

In the same time, Forenian forces jump into secret submarines (Codename: Reuseable Archer) and dissappears under the waves. It is said that they're still there to this day, building an underwater utopia. Scientists have dismissed this idea, pointing out that they only had 6 hours of air, and could be seen surfacing from the island.

Meanwhile, the second swarm is deployed. This swarm consists of butterflies, a most beautiful creature. The sudden swarms attract tonnes of tourism to the island, revitalizing local economies and rendering the violent struggles of the past entirely irrelevant.

The entire Forenian army, now out of job due the abolishment of the army, gladly crashes on Powder Miner's couch. It's a bit cramped, but they'll manage.

But alas, the peace does not last. The Forenian air force, having taking the wrong turn after their captain got ridicously drunk, arrives at a top secret Canallan military air base. The Canallan's are suprised to see the Forenian's arriving, and fearfull. Upon seeing in the completely lazarus pilot, they apologize, and load up all the planes with Totemo Iyama gas.

In the Canallan capital, a dreadfull ritual is starting. Canallan Mages gather the  powers of the 4 elements :"Alcohol,  Money, Expensive Alcohol and Alcohol based money are combined to form one devastating drink, composed out of 150% alchol. This world destroying beverages expands continously, gaing every greater volume unless it's drunk continiously. Only the mightiest may survive, and only it can revive El Presidente.
Killed in a gas bombing, body burned in a plane crash, El Presidente rises. He's entombed in a metal suit with a fully automated boar rotary autocannon. With these weapons, he will lead the forces of chaos, breaking the gates of Cadia once and for all. Oh wait, wrong franchise.

El Presidente rises, gather his weapons, and prepares for his greatest challenge yet. Winning the local elections without proper alcohol
Quote
The blood Eagle rises, and it's forces are legion. It commands, and all must bow and obey. With one sweep of it's mighty wings, it binds others to it's will. The Haast, a once mighty and noble airplane is corrupted into a monstrosity of pure and utter slaughter. Well, it already was, but now it's dripping blood and looking rather cool and evil.

The Canallans and the world give up all hope, and in their panic do the only and utterly improbable thing that could have saved them.

Through the sacrifice of the great Leaders of the world, and by incarnating and assimilating their power, El Presidente becomes El Presidente of Mankind. He unites the drunk, the very drunk and the hang over people of the world into the Glorious Presidentium of Mankind, and declares a Crusade against the evil forces of sobriety.

In switzerland, a true revolution is occuring. Ancient Swiss technologies are awakening, drawn from vaults deep inside the mountains. The flying ships are stripped to the bone, outfitted with clockwork machines and clockwork, ready to conquer the world. Their coming shall be swift and unstoppable, once their machines have been wound up.
Quote
For now, the world hangs in a precarious balance. Will the Earth survive this cataclysmic war, will El Presidente win the election, and will housing prices in Forenia stabilize?

No one one knows, but to know more, tune in tomorrow for more update

A poster has been found spread around the walls of Erching buildings... along with a couple of copies in the embassy in Forenia City, either to brag or to taunt the few Cannalans still bothering to come to the Embassy.

ERCHING, PREPARE!
As the citizens of Forenia know, a few units of Cannalan forces have managed, through deceit and trickery, to get a foothold on the western beaches of Forenia, and the jungled shore finds itself under threat of occupation.

But do not panic, Forenians! For each blow they deal us, we deal them one in kind, as our forces and our minds are strong enough and sharp enough to ensure that our war is not a losing one. Nonetheless, we must now deal with the thorns of Cannalan deception. Our men are out in our jungles, fighting the pirates and shedding blood to ensure that they shall not pass further. The might of Forenia is not to be doubted; our technological advancement and our tactical brilliance, our unchallenged superiority in the air, Cannala will find our forces a very formidable threat.

But if the worst scenario does come to pass, the citizens of Erching must be prepared to bring the battle to the pirates. Forenia has a long history of wily and powerful resistance. In the days of British colonization, the sheer fierceness of our peoples was enough to drive the colonizers off of our continent. When our old leaders sought to drive Forenia into the darkest of places, it was our tenaciousness and strength that brought us together as the Republic of United Forenia instead. Should the Cannalans drive forward, they will find the same to be true! Take your armor, take your Horsekillers, your Sorraias, and all of your guns, and prepare to shed pirate blood as our militaries have done for years! Forenia is no weak country, its people are tough, and it is your responsibility to make the Cannalans learn that at the point of a gun should poor luck dictate that they approach. Resist the pirate, Erching, and all of the towns in the jungle, for Forenia shall fight, and Cannalans show weakness to grit and to guns!

Haast, pride of army and air force

The Haast is one of the finest pieces in Forenian arsenal and it shows its exceptional engineering in many ways. The powerful V12 engine is pushed to the limit of this configuration, the large ellipse wing provide exceptional lift; this allows the Haast to have surprising speed and agility for its weight. Thanks to this incredible weight allowance a mangalloy armor around the cabin was implemented, called a “bathtub”, which protects the pilot from anything short of autocannons. The weapon payload is also extraordinary, boosting 2 machineguns, 4 autocannons and one tonne of bomb capacity on 3 hardpoints. The Raptor autocannon used in the design is a marvellous design of light weight engineering, perhaps the lightest of our time while still having excellent performance; thanks to this, ammunition storage is plentiful permitting sustained fire. If this wasn’t enough, the plane is also extraordinarily sturdy: Forenian patented self-sealing tanks, great lift and armor make it extremely hard to shoot down, to the point that pilots joke that it could keep going even with both wings torn off. Plus, its folding wings make it suitable for deployment on sea as well as on land.

But, with all those innovative features, what does the Haast do? It is not a fighter and not a bomber, but it created a new class for itself, the close air support aircraft (or CAS for shortness), which is designed and operated to closely help ground troopers on the ground. It descends on the battlefield using its many cannons to devastate vehicles and infantry alike, while the bomb payload is dropped on the hardiest targets; deployed from a carrier, it brings torpedoes to the naval game, aiding our ships as well as it aids our brave infantrymen on the ground. Any common plane would be easily shot down flying so close to the battlefield, or it would fly by too quickly to make a useful attack run. The Haast however can stay airborne at surprisingly low speeds thanks to its wing design and its resilience make attacks from the ground almost unconcerning.

It would be useful to compare it to other planes of its kind, but the truth is that there is none that match the role and capability of the Haast. The only other vehicle that may attempt to fill a similar niche on the battlefield is the Cannalan twinblade, a rotating wing contraption that is supposed to hover on the battlefield and provide continuous support. However, while the Haast is an astounding success, the twinblade is prone to crashes, spinning out of control and rapid unplanned disassemblies. All the opposite compared to the extraordinary airplane that that flies in our skies and rains death on our foes.

Here, in the CAS aircraft field, Forenia proves its engineering leadership, opening a new era of warfare in which air and ground are more linked than ever.
