So why isn't Erin doing this yet?

EDIT: if questioned, we can chalk it up to transdimensional fluctuations as a result of the wormhole's temporary instability. Or whatever other technobabble Erin chooses to confuse people with.

Because Erin can't hammerspace.

Only the parrot can.

"But wait, Blue," you say, "Didn't he pull the chair out of Hammerspace?" Yes. He can pull things out of Hammerspace, forming them from pure narrativium, but he can't send things in.

And even the chair was in an area of high suspension-of-disbelief, he was in a cell alone and the narrative eye was not on him for days on end.

So why isn't he doing it anyway? You've said before that you'd really like to get rid of Padel for being too much of a Big Bad and shoving our guys out of the "Main Antagonist" spot...

...and I have also said that I do not want Erin Quill getting strange and exceptional powers.

Stop railroading the gm.

:D

It's not strange and exceptional powers. It's just abuse of preexisting mechanics.

Flash-sideways back to the situation in Argentina! I’m going to go back to traditional 2d6 rolls, because we haven’t had them in a while (and I’ve overcomplicated this thing past its roots in a massive way)

David Eborrenial points out a man as a Goonswarm agent. “That’s who you want if you want to contact them. Deitri Mynt.”

(I’m still going with homophonic names! Deitri Mynt = Detriment.)

Spoiler: Dice (click to show/hide)

Celling walks up to Deitri Mynt. “We know about Goonswarm,” he says.

Mr. Mynt looks up in shock. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“We know you’re in their pay,” says Celling. “We want to bargain. The rebels located on this dock, in exchange for the government turning a blind eye to their activities.”

Deitri looks up suspiciously. “If you have some cause for these accusations-”

“We don’t want to arrest you. But if you put us in touch with those higher up, you’ll be remembered as the person that let Goonswarm take official control of this entire patch of coast.”

Deitri glances around furtively, then hands Celling a radio and walks away.

Fansworth (Credit-stealer) sees and runs up. “What did you just do?” he asks.

Your response?

A: “Nothing much. Just discussing the upcoming mission”
B: “Attempting to negotiate with Goonswarm.”
C: “He seems to be a spy. I confronted him about his actions.”
D: “Forget him. Are you sure you're fit for duty after what David Eborennial told you about your family?”
E: Something else…

C, plus we've gotten him to give us a lead on his superiors. This might very well be a very delicate operation, however, so he shouldn't interfere. No matter what it sounds like, we know what we're doing and we're getting a better deal for us, in the long run at least.

...actually, let's get proof that it's destabilized first. We don't have anything more than Padel's smug word, and I don't place much value on that.
+1.

you should decide whether you follow Padelheb or Kirk Summation him or knee him in the groin or whatever.
I say we let Erin use his best judgement here. That said, if we could shove Padel into Hammerspace...

...then throw the destabilizing wormhole after him...

again this is a very good idea.

That isn't the current issue Paxie.

E: Reply "We just saved our bacon, yours and bought time to devote to more serious problems, thank us later we have work to do fucking yesterday" then get back to trying to deal with the plague and the wormhole and stuff.

That is also not the current issue. We're in a military situation here, Paxie. On the trail of the rebels. Just got Goonswarm off our ass, and Padel's man wants to stick his nose in our business.

He is completely incorrect! I am totally not trying to sow discord amongst my players because I'm a terrible GM!

Not exactly C or D

E ) "Here we are making some political malabarism to catch the rebels using the minimum amount of time so we return to some more dangerous stuff later, but, forget this, Are you sure you're fit for duty after what David Eborennial told you about your family?"
and press him a bit on this and make some technical question about number of troops that he is bringing, time they were trained and if they are suitable to urban warfare

So the three players I have manage to all disagree.

Cue Fallacy wandering in to tie break.
