My vote goes to how important it is to check for survivors in ambush at the bottom of your dodge-fall traps before letting your civilians go down there to clean up! Lost one of the fortress' most successful mothers and some milker because I figured literally everyone died on impact and there was no chance that one landed on another and escaped injury. Wait.... Another ambush? One landed right ontop of a dwarf! Need to just abandon the place for the rest of the season...
And that dwarf is trying to fight it. Not even in the military.

Then I lose a soldier who tried to fight on the dodge-fall trap bridge...
Make that two soldiers.
