You live in a world where demonic creatures and angels battle. Where the lives of man are inconsequential next to the lives of the gods. Where you could be struck down by a higher power at any point in time. Where your mind and body could be twisted by the single move of a demons finger, and brainwashed by the single action of an angel. Where destruction runs rampant because of the war between good and evil. Where human lives are simply something to be converted, and to be struck down when they choose not to follow you.
And you have had enough of this.
You are not a god, a demon, an angel and not even a powerful wizard. You are an ordinary human being who has decided that this is not how it should be.
What is your name? Certainly nothing special.
Who are you? What are you skilled at? That is all a human has in this world.
Where do you come from? Home.
Where are you headed? Where do you feel you should go?
And most importantly, who are you to question the gods? What made you realize that you could fight back? Were you a priest of a dying god? A cultist, who realized that demons only take power for themselves, and dont have much, if you dont give it to them? Or maybe a simple farmer who had an epiphany?
Yep, a game that attempts to mimic Divinity and Demonhood, hope they dont mind. I will however attempt to run it a bit differently than them. Namely, you suck in every way imaginable. Not a magical nexus this time, so you wont gain any direct power. Your followers/compatriots/friends will be all you have. And I havent yet decided if it will be enough. Dont expect to go toe-to-toe with cthulean horrors without lots of preparation, luck and a very large army.
Notes:
Aviemore: A town near the border of The Kingdom of Barrtal and The Kingdom of Nagaron. It is a hotly contested area and the tensions between the two kingdoms are extremely visible there. While it has been conquered numerous times, it is still a relatively prosperous town, as it is on the trade routes between Nagaron and Barrtal. Its most known feature besides its contested nature, are the numerous inns where traders stay.
Demons: While not much is known about demons, most agree that they are evil to the core. They come in many shapes and forms that are always terrifying. Demons are relatively resistant to regular weaponry, but can be hurt by weapons made of or covered in silver. Enchanted and/or blessed weapons also work. It is generally agreed that demons are frightened of mirrors and churches, and that they are the best way to ward against them.
Grimbane: A sword. It is currently the only sword known to be wielded by humans, demons and alike angels. Many were slain by this sword, but its looks, maker and power have not been recorded.
University of Dolnar: Located in Dolnar-on-Barr. Is the location of highest education one could get in Barrtal. Is located in an old palace building, that is slowly falling apart due to lack of proper maintenance(the university is not rich). While magical education takes place in the wizards tower, some magic can be learned in the university as well.
Paul: Average in height and build. Higher than normal intelligence. Generally friendly. Quite devout. Is a lecturer in the University of Dolnar, and teaches magic, although mostly speaks about philosophy. Apparently has good connections, even knowing the king.
Barrsmouth: A port town located in The Kingdom of Nagatron. As its name suggest, it is located where the river Barr meets the sea. An extremely prosperous port town, that drives a large portion of Nagarons trade over the sea.
Stillmount: A large town half-way to the road to Barrsmouth. The town sports a tough fort, hinting that the region has not always been very peaceful. It is surrounded by wooden fortifications, and large groups of bandits apparently roam the lands. It is ruled by Lord Walter.
Nightbloom: A flower that is black and dark purple in colour. It only grows in the western parts of the Mughae empire, and is said to be poisonous to demons.
Mughae empire: A large and chaotic empire to the far west.
