Now that it's posted in the proper forum, I hope you all like it.
Player Name: Gotdamnmiracle
Character Name: Kourogi Arai
Profession: Musician/spy
Clan: Nimensei.
The Nimensei clan is made up of upper class artisans and performers. The general opinion of them is that they aren't worth the goods or services they produce because you have to deal with their pomp and vanity as well as quite a bit classism. The fact of the matter is though this clan is a big hitter on the services circuit and more recently is one of the largest growing trade organizations (seeing as their newest contracts with foreign sources). The Nimensei are also blamed for, in more hushed tones, corporate espionage and trade secret stealing, nothing as of yet has been proven, however.
School: Twisted Oak School of Fine Artistry and Mercantile: The Twisted Oak teaches everything from how to play fine music to how to act as well as archery and Swaying Reed sword fighting style, preferring small blades. Since the Twisted Oak's main contributor is the Nimensei clan Classes on haggling as well as stealth are taught here.
Music (with a specific instrument)/mercantile/service (cooking, woodworking, painting, etc.), acting, archery, knife wielding (swaying reed), haggling, appraising, and stealth.
The whole school is the Nimensei training hub. Specialty schools on sailing and the like are offered for overseas traders but there are no people at the school who don't belong to the clan. The school is located along the beach in a port town and is fairly rigid in it's teaching, so much so that the people in the town can tell who the students are just because of how stressed out they look.
Physical Description: Kourogi is an averaged average sized man with light olive skin. His musculature is difficult to make out under his dress suit but he moves smoothly and quickly, reminiscent of a dancer. He is devoid of scars or marks save a freckle or two alone his arms and callused hands and feet. He stands absolutely straight. He would be attractive if it weren't laugh lines and crows feet on his face and a long nose coupled dark circles under his eyes, hinting at a severe lack of sleep. Despite his wrinkles though he doesn't look old, in fact he couldn't be older than his mid twenties. He just looks perpetually stressed out. his hair is a dark brown part, 4" in length.
Personality: Kourogi is a man who no longer cares, grown from a boy who once did. He is no criminal but will do what it requires to get the job done. As a teenager he hoped to fix his clan (naively) from the inside. He no longer believes there is anything truly real except for the things he can touch and feel. He is vain and dislikes the lower classes and more brutish things in life, an attitude that comes with the clan. The only thing he finds pleasure in, really is playing his violin and seeing what's over that next horizon. He doesn't really relish spying for his clan but he does it because "Everyone has bills to pay I suppose". Kourogi is not without morality though and dislikes violence and abhors killing. Some say he suffers from depression. He says he suffers from wanderlust.
Skills: Violin, persuasion, short sword (swaying reed), acting, stealth, archery, acrobatics and mercantile.
All skills were taught at the Twisted Oak.
Biography: As a boy kourogi often witnessed the result of severe corruption within the small community that he lived. As he grew he began to try to work with the Nimensei clan, to gain their trust. After he was finally inducted he and had finished his schooling he had finally seen the far reaches of the corruption and realized that there was nothing or little he could do.
Now all kourogi lives for is the next day, the next town, and the next club to play at, doing a job or two in between. The latest job was on his way to Sumeru and he had heard good things about the saki at a specific bar to play at, so that was the location of choice for this week.
Goals: He wants to find something (or someone) that inspires him. He also still has underlying hope that his clan will fail and more specifically that he will fail every time he does a job. This hope, however, has never stayed his hands, sword, or tongue.
So will this work? Tell me if he fits, please! I would love to joins as soon as possible.
