I don't think butterflies can handle 3-inch knives. At the very least I've never seen any that used 'em.

I thought France was in Italy?
Considering Europe's rather complicated history, this might have been true at one point.

You know how it goes. Things were all hot and heavy at first, with Rome getting all up in Gaul's business, all hours of the day. Then they got along for a while, and Gaul found out Rome was cheating on her with Egypt and Seleucia, so Gaul... Well, she kind of overreacted.

In history class the other day we were going over WW2 and at some point the teacher mentioned that Franklin D Roosevelt and Winston Churchill were very like minded people and came to share "a great friendship together."--in her words.

Sure enuff, mere seconds after the words left the teacher's mouth, generic teen girl #1 sitting next to me leans over to her friend generic teenage girl #2 and whispers "They were gay." and the two broke into giggles.

I mean no offense, there's nothing wrong with that. What I find so stupid about this quote is that people can be so closeminded at times as to automatically assume that some good, close "bro"-level friends must obviously be gay for each other, derp derp. Values dissonance, I guess. It's like the whole Frodo and Sam thing again; Tolkien couldn't believe people thought Frodo and Sam were gay, Tolkien only saw them as extremely close friends and thought that everyone would interpret his writing as such.

Then again, generic teenage girl #1 was also heard to say "I don't need to worry about college or grades, I'm going to be a tattoo artist. I told my mom this, and she just stared at me like there's something wrong with me." It's unsurprising she'd think like that.

I'm unsure of the qualifications necessary for such a profession, but I do believe you need some experience in art, so those grades of course matter.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Everyone who knows me and my lesbian friend think either: A. We're together. or B. We should be together.

Can a male and a female not be... Just friends? Is that... Is that not okay? o.O

As a guy who spent his childhood as just-friends with a girl, I say that's perfectly fine!

I did as well. Most of my friends have been girls. I don't get this whole, "You gotta be fuckin' chicks, man! They aren't good for much else!" mentality. It's sick. It makes me fucking angry.
