Erm, aye to my own proposal.

He immediately begins to beavergoat the man quite thoroughly! At the very beginning, the man is mystified by James' actions, but his face quickly becomes a mask of horror when the procedure starts!

"OH GODS WHY? WHYYY?"

After a twenty minute session, the man is left white as a sheet, hairless and completely and utterly dead. James congratulates himself on a job well done!

Aye

Whether we kill, capture, or convert it is a matter to be discussed later, but leaving it to roam unchecked is out of the question.

He increased upkeep by 20% of the world population not 20% of your followers if I'm correct.  So that means you would need to have over a certain percentage of the world's population as your followers in order to maintain a positive upkeep.  This really leaves you with a couple options:

1: Join a pantheon to share followers and thus increase your overall followers to the point at which your income is positive.
2: Convert more people possibly through stealing them from another god/devil (which will potentially put them to sleep).

Maybe he's trying to get us to either ally or kill each other.
Oh carp...what do I need to do to form a Pantheon, again? Could the Synod be one? We've done a lot of work...

((Oh, and RPG, IMHO you should have named that extra cost something other than "upkeep".))

I thought Delmas was a demon.....
Nope, fairy courtier.
(Am I using the correct spelling of fairy?)

Oh, and one last thing. I've been acting as a sort of secretary for the Synod. However, if Draco falls asleep (and, barring massive evangelization, a change in the rules, or enormous depopulation which doesn't affect my followers, I probably will), I wouldn't feel justified in continuing to work in the Synod since my character wouldn't be. Thus, we need a new secretary for when that should happen.
Basically, the secretary needs to keep an (open) list of notes about the status of the Synod, its laws, all proposals, etc, as well as making the proposals into specific, formal language. Anyone want to volunteer?

I think I recall someone setting their actions to building a joint temple for you and them, so that might help.  Also if you fall asleep, your upkeep is halved, so you'll probably just be asleep for maybe two turns, then wake up for a turn, then fall back asleep for two turns, etc until your income is higher.

I guess if your willing to pay me back later, I could also see about opening up more mana generators and giving you half income for each one you invest in (assuming GM lets me do that).  My next design probably won't drain life force though, because I don't really feel like dragging in so many sacrifices all the time.  Maybe the next one will absorb heat once we dig deep enough into the mines for there to be massive thermal energy.

I actually have a plan for a miracle with big practical benefits, but I need about 6-10 times as much mana before I'd even try.

I have 34 upkeep and 28 income of worship. Assuming I don't lose any followers from cutting off the healing miracles, that's a -6 for now, meaning I'll go to sleep in four turns if I do nothing. Then, my upkeep would be down to 17; if no one dropped the worship of the dead god, I'd be at 7 worship, asleep again in two turns.
And that's all if I don't spend a drop of Worship on anything but upkeep.

I'd approve of the geothermal ones.

You could always enlist the services of a trickery demon, who could use his resources to make people worship you..... It works well for me!!!

Making people perform sacrifices is always good!

Maybe we could end up in a pantheon. we have been pretty closely linked, especially in Avalon.

EDIT-"looks closely" why did I get pantheon income?

As of now, the pantheon of urges would draw power away from my Influence, and distribute it to scapheap and Frostbyte

Still good to make allies though, and share mana pools

I think he would fit better into a pantheon of prosperity than a pantheon of urges.  Just saying.  Anyway I guess Aye for taking out that thing in the north.  Might take us a couple turns to build up our forces though.

I'll see about making some geothermal generators in a turn or two.

Uuh, why would we build up our forces?
If we have 2 devils, fae lord, and a god, that can kill most anything...

In theory...but in practice, not so much. I'm not sure if gods and other Powers (aside from fae, obviously) can effectively combat a "lesser" being like a mortal or a monster, and I'm going to need to conserve my strength if I'm not going to sleep...

I'm going to ask again--RPG, what are the approximate criteria for becoming a Pantheon, and would the Synod fulfill them?
