Aside from the title and the fact that most of the characters are female, this abides by the conventions of magical girl shows about as well as Watchmen abides by the conventions of the sillier Silver Age comic books.

but I fancy my villains and their mooks varied. some might easily be swayed, others only when they are likely to lose, while others are convinced of what they are doing and will not bother with much discussion

Oh, and about the whole 'not wanting death thing' it's because you aren't coming back if you die. The only time that happened it was prearranged by the character's player and the GM.

Probably not. It should go away a lot when we get more plot going though. Right now we're just twiddling our thumbs, mostly.
