The man shrugs.
"Well, I guess that the room needs cleaned up... sure. Kyle Johnson. Before you ask yes, most of the other Johnsons are my kids."
Erden may notice that David and Kyle do look similar.
He nodded, bowing slightly.
"My name is Erden Kane. I shall see what I can do to clean this mess."Turning, he did a quick assessment of what needed done. Some of the piles of refuse material needed proper sorting and the floor could do with a proper sweep. While Erden might have preferred to help with the curious machine a bit, work was work. Anything to help clear his mind and distract his body so he could think properly. As he began to shift and sort the piles of junk his thoughts began to flow more freely than normal.
These first he hours at the academy had been curious. As of yet, he had only met three people. Charlotte, the mute girl, David Johnson, a "prefect", and Kyle Johnson, patriarch of the Johnson family who seemed to employed throughout the school. Gnome was promptly forgotten, as he disappeared before Erden had a chance to pronounce his name. Erden was not entirely sure what to make of the Johnson family now that his initial embarrassment had subsided. They seemed a mysterious group. For as much David looked like his father, they were also quite different people. He could tell that much at a glance.
The Academy itself was mystery as well. It was a gathering of young men and women from across the globe. But for what purpose? What did God hope to gain from this endeavor? His mind reflected upon the black ritual he had heard of at the Mess Hall. While God seemed to be kind enough fellow, the fact that he would allow such an insane person to apply at to Academy was baffling. As were his powers. The school itself seemed to shift and bend on a whim. Having been accustomed to speaking to the earth itself to decipher his path, the strange twisting hallways seemed to be confused by his method of navigation. But even after God fixed it so Erden could now "talk" to the tile floors, the action felt unnatural. It was not the same feeling that he usually had when real dirt and stone were beneath his feet. He stopped for a moment and took a ponderous breath. The concept of this "God" was difficult to comprehend.
"Perhaps... It will make sense tomorrow." Erden muttered, continuing to shift through the requisition materials.
