Holy crap it's like a Thunderhawk rear-ended a land raider and got extra guns added!

Doesn't look grimdark enough. Doesn't look 40k enough.

Redemptionist Book of Prayer someone put together for their DH game.
That's some deepest lore right there. Makes for a good Halloween script

By the way, Primaris Super-Heavy Tank is now a thing.
What if Baneblade fucked a Land Raider, then someone painted it blue and slapped anti-grav propulsion on it.
Seems like something straight outta starcraft. Why's it got treads and grav propulsion?

They're grav-skids
I mean, I assume.

Frankly I was waiting for Space Marines to get a heavier heavy tank than the Baneblade, seeing as the Land Raider already suggests they've got room in the meta for something heavy.
Not sure how I'm gonna feel about it skimming to the top floor of teeny tiny watchtowers and then unleashing havoc across the entire board because no facings and free LoS.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

it honestly looks like a lazy mashup of different tanks with grav-skids added for effect. L A M E.

Can't say I'm a fan either, but at least it isn't as ugly as all of the space marine fighter aircraft.

I still really don't know what to make of all of the additions to the space marines after I stopped playing in 5th edition, and this is making me only more unsure.

Yeah, not really a fan either. It's lost a little something of the Imperial vehicle identity IMO.

So it's essentially an SM hammerhead. What's next, an SM manta made of a bunch of bolted together thunderhawks? SM battlesuits? (oh wait, that's centurions I guess, lol)

It feels all too uninspired and meh frankly. And completely against the overall theme of the faction, they're big, bulky, goddamn pillars that hold up the roof made of chaos and xeno bullshit. Giving them a floaty supertank is fucking dumb. Hell, they could've gotten away with a modified baneblade or something, atleast it'd be more beliveable and fitting the faction.

Tbh I have no idea why I bother caring anymore,  40k has kinda lost most of its charm in the recent years for me, a lack of a good game certainly wasn't helped by GW being twats in general I think.

I think because its silhouette is so convoluted?

SM vehicles have always had very clean, convex, geometric lines, I think; Dreadnoughts, for example, are three side-by-side boxes with limbs, and the Rhino is a wedge on treads. The Predator is a turret on a wedge on treads. They look like LEGO models with even their smallest bits being above a certain size, which helps communicate their resilience in much the same way as the bulkiness of their armor.

This, though, is utterly covered in boxy extrusions and flutes that break up the lines and kind of ruin the chunkiness of the chassis. It looks complicated, where Space Marines have always been about as aesthetically complex as a power fist to the face. One could even say that it looks like a Marine take on a Fire Prism, especially with the turret placement and those big forward tread/grav tines that, indeed, look like they could have been ripped right off of a Starcraft Siege Tank.

We're used to Marine models that look like someone glued bits on a brick, even when it's supposed to fly. The Astraeus looks...badly streamlined. Tau-like, even.
