I'm acutally doing a thing with my defensive action.  Attacks from the side or the back don't count for it.

Well, people are currently choosing between going after Ridley or the Metroid.
'course, I don't have much of a choice since my character was literally in the middle of an attack as this happened, but still.

I'm following him in the hopes that some space pirates are helping him, it is about time I start building up my statue supply, instead of suicidaly trying to FIGHT the boss that is literally an entire game worth of experience out of our league.

John sees Samus as the only source of reliable information currently present. There is also the whole thing where she was taking on a Metroid on her own while upwards of 10 of us couldn't do a damn thing to it... so she's at least partly useful outside of information too.

I don't plan on trying to petrify Ridley more than once, if he is mechanized, that probably helps him, if he isn't, my petrify technique still has a factor where it can be resisted, which means either way, i couldn't petrify him unless he were weakened, which is flat out impossible with our setup.
