If the ability multitargets, is it capped per shot or overall?

Spellsteal (1): Alanis targets a single foe. Should they use a Magical attack this turn, Alanis rapidly reverse-engineers it and fires her copy of their own spell at them before they themselves have even finished casting. The copied attack is still performed.

Total damage capped at Alanis's maximum possible damage (18+6n+SYN).

1 Turn Cooldown
