Yuki also quickly unpacked - at least, she unpacked the things that wouldn't be uber-suspicious to see in a maid's room. This was accomplished very quickly indeed, as she didn't exactly own much - it was just a spare uniform and a single set of casual clothes, and her toothbrush and a tube of her preferred toothpaste. After that, she goes to pick up one of the pagers and looks through it. "Ooooh, a quest list! I wonder if we get experience points?" she said as she saw the task log. She turned to Faith. "Want to get started? I think we should take a look around- oh hey, Yoake's dusting already..." she considered that, and then quietly pumped a fist - she wouldn't lose! But she had to stick with Faith for now...

Minato checks what tasks he could take care of on the pager, meanwhile. He wasn't any good at espionage, especially compared to Shef (Minato swore Shef HAD to have been one of those ex-black ops, secret service professional-turned-mercenary-types that people always had on TV and those schlocky action films but Minato didn't really think existed precisely because it was even more cliche), but he didn't want to lounge around being no help.

And in any case, it was good to familiarize himself with the mansion; how many floors it had, how many exits, how many doors, figuring out if anything didn't quite correspond to the floor plan.

Minato
Aside from the restricted areas which you can't actually check, it seems to match the floor plan perfectly. Makes sense - if there's an Sanctuary located here, they could just place entrances and exits wherever they damn well pleased, any modifications would have to be by Appleton rather than her less-than-welcome guests.

Noriko moved about the room, doing her best to pretend she didn't notice how off the room looked. She was trying to look like, well, what she was trying to look like: a new employee trying to familiarize herself with the area before they hiked her assigned workload. She tried to take note of the cameras, where the shadows were located, but fortunately she seemed to have already finished the first step of why they'd come.

Once she completed her cursory examination of the room, she patted her pocket abruptly as if she'd forgotten something (had to put on a show for the cameras, right?) and then started back toward their quarters.

Once Shef felt that he knew his way around, generally, he headed to the cellar/basement. It was a cliched location, but it was out of the way, and worth investigating. What was the cellar like? Were there multiple rooms? Same ratios of camera as other areas of the manor?

Yuki, after getting a look around, splits from Faith to get her work load done - she does it quickly and fairly efficiently, drawing on her maid-cafe experiences (that probably don't actually apply). After that, she'd look for some of the more experienced maids. It was time for questioning and investigation and stuff - she'd probably find someone to do this with because she's not actually very good at this.

Noriko
Cameras are where you'd expect, that is to say in corners and various other inoffensive places that don't spoil the view, well, whatever view a loading zone has going for it anyway, fields of vision overlap and each is in the view of another. You feign forgetfulness and leave. Hmm, well everything isn't suddenly on fire, so hooray for you?

Shef
The basement seems to be dedicated to general storage and maintenance access rather than storing wine it seems, indeed, there doesn't seem to be any wine down here at all. It's sparsely furnished, seemingly in an attempt to make it feel a little less expansive and a little more roomy though there really isn't much a reason anyone would want to stay down here long enough to have use for said furniture. The main rooms are free for you to access, but everything of interest, the utility areas, are labelled with a warning icon. Not quite out of bounds, but you will trigger an alert as soon as you enter them. Still, nothing seems to be amiss here and the scryer remains silent.

Yuki
You go off to look for another maid. Anyone wanna throw in their servant to deal with this, or do I have to actually create another reasonable throwaway character like a real GM? :P

Shef will attempt to inspect one of the doors, trying to figure out if it will send the alert electronically through some magnetic part of the frame, or whether it would simply be due to his pager or the cameras reporting it.

God damn, this mansion was big. Even assuming that what they were searching for wouldn't be in obvious places like the kitchen, it'd probably take hours to search everywhere individually. Hopefully the others were doing their searching.

Shef
Hard to rule anything out on account of RFID readers being able to be miniaturized quite a bit and the fact that you can't see inside the rooms and thus whether or not there are cameras inside. That being said, logistically speaking, it's most likely to be built into the door itself, since a pager-based alarm won't work on people with out pagers and a getting a camera to do it is going to be a kit more than finnicky and possibly prone to false alarms depending on what's in the rooms.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Shef leaned up against a wall, shielding a small area in front of him from the cameras with his body. He then created a small portal, as small as he could. The opening would be on the other side of the wall, almost at ceiling level. It made sense that cameras would be angled down to capture the movements of humans, thus the highest point would the the closest to a blind spot that Shef could predict without actually being in the room.

Yuki
You come across a maid and a butler sitting down for a cup of tea in one of the lounges. At least, you think it's a maid and a butler? The man wears his blue hair spiked and thick with gel and his suit unbuttoned with the jacket casually resting on his shoulders, the woman, well she's more neatly dressed and would have a far more refined air if it weren't for that fact that she happens to be sprawled across a couch and idly flicking through a manga.

You soon realize that A: it isn't quite a manga, and B: Noriko has just walked in and probably isn't allowed to see the contents of the not-a-manga.

Shef
Portal opened and... yup, definitely a camera, two cameras actually with fields of vision that cover each other, a rather common theme here it seems.

"Soo... whatcha doing?"

There is a girl behind you, late teens by the looks of it, dressed in a maid uniform with her green hair tied into a neat ponytail. Heeled shoes. Part of the uniform perhaps? They didn't make a noise though, and with the time window for her to get here, she would've had to have moved quickly in silence.

Shef made a casual wiping motion, hopefully hiding the small portal by either his body or his hand as he dissipated it. He then turned to the newcomer, and stated matter-of-factly, "Thought I saw a bug. Do a bit of entomology in my free time, collecting new ones when I can. Wasn't a bug though, just a very deceptive piece of lint."

"Guess someone was slacking on the job."

Yoake
You're about halfway through dusting the fourth set of bedrooms before a voice rings out from behind you "What the hell are you doing?"

Shef
"I see, say I haven't seen you around here, are you one of the new hires?"

"Oh, hey, uh, Aiko, what are you up to?" Her eyes flicked toward the not-a-manga. . . and quickly flicked away. "And, um, you two as well. Sorry, I'm new here."

"Yes, I am. Name's Linden." Shef continued to gaze at the wall curiously, to keep up the facade that he was inspecting the walls, and has been investigating them, not the stuff beyond

". . .So, how long have you worked here?"
