After he is given A-OK by your guards, you retreat with the youth to a side chamber.

"Emperor Cyl, it is great to meet you in person." The hooded youth says before taking off his hood. "I am Targald, son of Duke of Eval, Caun." You look at the youth with a degree of surprise.

"I have asked you to come and talk privately, because my father has some grand plans that possibly couldn't succeed without help of a man like you."

"What are those plans"?

"My father eyes jealously the throne of Lametania, and has a rightfu claim for it. But he lacks arms and men to conquer our ancestral home, in fear that the Dukes under yoke of Damdamians would try to swoop in and seize power in both of our lands, and obviously we're unwilling to try and attack these two first, lest the Damdamians turn their eyes towards us. And so the impasse has lasted for many years, before my father decided to instead look northwards for support."

"He wants us to help him recover Lametanian throne, then."

"If you're willing to help him reunite two parts of Lametania under his rule, he would be your most loyal ally, and so I will, when the throne passes to me."

You decide to...

A) Agree to a joint invasion of Lametania.
B) Counteroffer with supplies and Thundercats on lease.
C) Reject the silly offer.
D) Call the guards and capture heir of Eval for a ransom!

On one hand that doesn't sound like a terrible offer.

On the other hand if we accept it'll make talking to the Lametanians right after this incredibly awkward. Even the counteroffer isn't great because anybody who's got Thundercats is clearly working for us anyway...

We are not unsympathetic, but we do not believe a war that risks the stability of the Damdamia-Lametania border region would be to the interest of our imperial nations.

(If the Lametanian envoy comes forward with the reciprocal plan to conquer Eval, I may regret not holding the prince for ransom. But they are not east, so we have no special reason to detain him yet.)

Agreed.  This is the kind of circumstance where we do really need to hear both envoys first.
