Probably plague/pop loss/Army Loss/trade related woes. Really though, the plague struck at an excellent time. Any other time dealing with that would have been hell.

By having nearly zero income due to plague making everyone scared to breathe, then ordering festivities and extra army incentives on top of regular spending which did not stop when the rest of the nation came to a halt – it so happens that 7 points is about what we spend in any year. You're just spoiled by having our fur prices reach new highs three years running.

• I've been marking -1 for Settlement claims as a matter of planning but historically it hasn't come out like that. Might be just how our rolls are running, and I'm not sure plague time should count.
• Some of the mines and trading results may be adjusted due to lower pops / lingering recovery, but I can't predict those unless I see new rolls.

I also have to wonder whether Passage Tax and Settlement Policy are fighting each other; but we daren't repeal the income just now.

You decide to cut Army's budgets as much as possible.

1164 AD, Spring

The Orcworld Fortress has been attacked! Some fair-skinned tribe of lizard females, that were sneaking through the mountains or just flew on backs of some hideous, leathery bats are responsible for this onslaught. The attack came from northwesternly direction, the mountains there not exactly scouted.

The lizard women were quite ritualistic in their attack; first their let out a defeaning war cry and then attacked the fortress; much to the horror of your soldiers, the lizard women on the ground simply climbed the smooth stone surface, their palms and feet covered with some sticky substance. The flying ones dived to the walls and towers, plucking away soldiers one by one like bird disposes of old feathers. Few remainedi n the air, shooting bows, throwing rocks and, simply put, shit-filled jars at the men on the walls.

All in all, about six dozen lizard females and ten of their bat-mounts were killed. Loss of soldiers is approximately over a hundred; most of the mdead, but there are some reports that few soldiers were carried away in the claws of the bat-mounts. Neither the bats nor the lizards have shown any fear for the smoke, fire and sounds produced by Thundercats or other Fireblood equipment installed on the fortress.

You decide to...

A) Send an armed expedition to northwest of Orcworld, seeking the lizard females (and the soldiers they stole from you).
B) Strengthen the garrison of Orcworld fortress, bringing much more shooters and Fireblood equipment there.
C) Do both of things described above.
