As the Church Goers leave through the portal, the abominations takes to dragging her corpse to one of the dilapidated corners of the warehouse. She repeats this process with another corpse, stacking on top the first. She continues stacking the bodies until all remaining corpses or within the pile.

As the moth approaches the pile of corpse, the abomination tending it stops in her tracks. Her neck twists, forming a U shape as turns to look behind her. She hisses at the encroaching moth, mouth opening so wide as to be almost a straight line. In the dark recess of her throat, metal tendrils thrash against their confines.

Please?
The moth communicates this with his body language.
Also, you couldn’t have possibly gotten all of the corpses. Right? Right?

The monstrosity refuses to relent. Crawling further up her mound of corpses, she hisses once again at the intruding moth, jagged teeth, and spikes of molded plastic and metal radiate from her gums. Almost all of them, pointing at Lan’Ra.

AsHul approaches Kara at some point in the events, standing a respectful distance away:
"Greetings, Generous Corven. Are you well? How are you han- -ahem- adjusting to the loss of your arm?" AsHul asks.
"If you are interested, I am sure that you could get a prosthetic, perhaps a mechanical one. There may even be someone in town who could graft on a real Corven arm, should you wish. I imagine that the reward the Church has granted us for delivering the orb would cover that cost easily.

...

Speaking of the reward, and forgive me if I am being too forward, but, what are your intentions regarding that money? Will you be distributing it to the group at large? There is talk of outfitting the Bore to be livable, and I believe the warehouse could use some repairs, should we choose to retain it."

AsHul will assist Harm and the others in organizing and recording the loot and in cleaning the warehouse.
When Kara is awake, he will approach her to ask if she intends to share the Fathoms with the rest, and how she wold like to proceed with that. He'll accept a share if she provides it. He'll happily escort her to a money changer to get smaller denominations for distribution.
AsHul requests an equal share of worm's bloods from the loot, and will distribute them among the Divers who participated in the tutorial artifact retrieval.

Finally, AsHul will visit the local parish church for worship, to establish contacts within the church, and to see if the parish has any open jobs or requests that our motley crew could take on.

Kara made a polite bow, using it as an excuse to close her eyes and give herself time to compose herself. Unlike a human, whose facial expressions were usually involuntary and difficult to control, she didn't have to work that hard to hide how much the abominations' words disturbed and disgusted her.
"Greetings." she replied, putting all the cheer and strength she could muster behind her words.
"I thank you for your concern, however I assure you that I am well. Drett's treatment of my injury is sufficient, I have no need for anything else." she added, trying to sound unconcerned, as if she was talking about some minor tear in her clothing.

"I see nothing inherently wrong with investing some funds into the improvement of our assets. If one brought such a matter to my attention I would be happy to discuss it with them, provided it is truly an improvement and not some useless trifle." she answered with the same pleasant tone.
"As for distributing funds to the group at large" she continued, echoing the diver's words back at him "you must excuse me but I fail to see a reason for me to do so." she concluded, waiting to see the abominations' reaction to her words.

"Generous Corven, that is good to hear. It can be quite stressful for one to suffer afflictions of the body. I am delighted that you are faring so well."

"As for distributing funds to the group at large" she continued, echoing the diver's words back at him "you must excuse me but I fail to see a reason for me to do so." she concluded, waiting to see the abominations' reaction to her words.
AsHul steps forward and leans in lightly, head tilted to the side, hands folded in front of him.
"I see three reasons it would be good for the fathoms to be spread among the group, once costs are covered.
First is the effort the others put into acquiring the artifact. Many wold see that effort as giving them equal claim to the bounty.
Second, the reward was directed at the group. The church official spoke to everyone. many would see that as granting the reward to the group at large.
Third, it engenders cooperation, while keeping such a reward for oneself would engender distrust, envy, and ill will.
Why, some would see it as a sign of greed and desperation, an unfitting image for such a noble and selfless creature.
AsHul's hands unclasp, and one waves slightly toward Kara's sleeve, as if unconsciously.

He pauses a moment.
"No matter. I am not one to talk about appearances." AsHul laughs in his strange, braying voice.
"I have need of nothing, though it would be preferable for me to restock on certain supplies. I suppose I'll be coming to you frequently, Oh Treasurer, for requests concerning the Bore and our travels together."
AsHul turns and walks away, heading to his other tasks.

"You must excuse me." Kara raised her voice and took a step forward, reaching out with her hand as if she would grab the abomination.
"I failed to properly express my intentions. I won't deny that what they say about the Corven holds some truth. We value wealth of all kinds. Some might even say we value wealth too much. However even the most selfish Corven must, in order to be successful, realize that amassing wealth by all means is a foolish goal. One cannot prosper alone. One cannot be unjust without being repaid with injustice. So it is so that we recognize the need to share effort in return for shared wealth. So it is so that we recognize the need for a just reward, a proper payment."

"However I must stress that I believe in a just reward. A proper payment. So, if you will allow me, I would correct my previous statement to: 'I see no reason to distribute that money to everyone.' At least, not equally."

"After all, there is being generous and there is being a fool and I'd hate it if my friends began to consider me a fool or someone that doesn't have their best interest at heart."

"Assume I spread the money equally. How would Drett feel I valued his efforts to keep us alive? How would Vikkan feel I valued his skill in driving and efforts to retrieve the artifact? How would you feel I valued your help with the Construct and the guards? How would they all feel if I said I valued them as much as those who were detrimental, those who spent their time squabbling over petty things? Who even now seek to take things and hoard them for themselves? Are they going to share what they took? Are they going to help Drett restock? Are they going to help Vikkan and Wiellste with their injuries? Are they going to help us? And if not, why should we? Where is the fairness in that? Where is the Justice in that?"

Kara realized she was growling angrily. She took a second to look away and compose herself.
"It is what I think is best. If the others hate me for it, if they try to force me, then so be it. But I'd rather be fair to my friends and hated for it than a fool to those who would take advantage of me, even if I'm a lovable fool."

"Besides, it is useless to consider such things when we don't know how much money we will need for our group's well being. We haven't even finished exploring the bore and the warehouse. Nor is Drett finished with treating the injured. When we have a map of the bore and all of us have agreed on a plan for the future then we can talk about rewards. But if it will put your mind at ease, I can promise you that I will at the very least provide you with recompense for the equipment you consumed. Even if I have to sell my equipment for it."

AsHul stops after several steps and listens. As she begins talking about a just reward and proper payment, he turns fully toward her once more, head lowered slightly, hands clasped once more. As she begins to discuss group expenditures, he rubs his lumpy chin with gnarled fingers. He stands in this contemplative pose for several seconds after she finishes, the silence beginning to stretch, before finally speaking.

"I apologize for misunderstanding your position, Honored Corven. What you say is reasonable, and an unequal distribution, though more difficult to determine, can be a Just distribution. And it is as you say: we have several other expenditures to fulfill before we can worry about individual shares. You have certainly thought this through, better than I.

I am the least of the Captured, or should I say of the Freed? But, you have my support. I will back you in what you have decided.

Only ..."
The Abomination glances up to meet Kara's eyes before hurriedly lowering his own again.
"Please do not sell your own equipment to make up for mine. I'll accept any share of the reward that comes my way, but it would be arrogant of me to take from you, who have already given much.  It wouldn't be Just, I think."

At some point, CLate walks up to Ashul and Kara having a conversation. He greets them cheerfully, at least as far as a mollusk inside a diving suit can look cheerful. He is carrying a clipboard.

"Hello, friend Klara and friend Ashul. What a turn of events that was, eh? Suddenly we are the proud owners of both a bore and a warehouse. And what a pile of goods we have gathered! I hope that pile of money isn't weighing too heavily on your shoulders, eh, friend Kara. On that note."

He flips through a few pages.

"I'm sure you've both perused the pile already. Suprisingly, it is not the weapons or other knick knacks that are giving us the most trouble. It is, in fact, the corpses! It would seem like everyone wants a piece.

Which is why I approach you now, to work a division of corpses that is agreeable to everyone. Are either of you interested in corpses for your use? I personally want as many as I can get, because together with the now deactivated bomb collars they will make for excellent tinkering material. I know friend Auft is also interested, for"
He holds the page up to his helmet, then whipes the little glass window, then holds it up again. " 'Medical purposes'. Whatever that means."

AsHul blinks momentarily at the exosuited figure. Well, perhaps blinking is the wrong term, as his eyes tend not to close together in rhythm. One often closes ahead of or behind the other, sometimes not closing entirely at all.

"Forgive me, Master Shluck. Am I understanding correctly that members of the team are in dispute regarding the possession of the dead bodies of our captors? And that this is, at least for some of you, because you want to use them to make ... things with? What happens when the body parts decompose?

Ah, to answer your question, I have no interest in keeping any of the corpses. I can think of no use they would have in any of my own pursuits. I do ask that those of you interested in their use take care in storing and processing them, as the decomposition would be unpleasant for most to bear, aside from the loss of the materials themselves."
