I was just testing something. Never mind. Some food would do me well.

[-]"Well, guard you, for one." Zachary offers with a chuckle, dipping his head and following you as you walk towards the cafeteria. "File paperwork, fill out forms, train, inspect the barracks and the troops, ensure the safety of personnel involved with the project, and so on. It's quite a list." You take a stack of covered bowls marked for you, containing nutrient mush and actual [grain-meal]. You grab the jug of water assigned to you, and the bottles of [apple] juice and heavily diluted wine. When you're loaded up with your assigned rations, you take a seat at an empty table, and the Captain follows along behind you.

"The duty I'm here for today is the briefing for your pilgrimage today." He explains as you start to eat, watching you intently. "I've got the action plan ready, and we're set to go at nine."

[-]You eat as he speaks, and he has a map to show you, one that stretches out from the gate of the Holy City all the way westward, right to the edge of McCreary's lake.

"Any issues with this plan, Angel Alphira?"

It appears he accidentally forgot to mention the containment orders.

"Yes, cancel it, effective immediately."

Alphira says we should skip it.  We already can contact McCreary if we need to, who knows all about the battle, so I don't see the point of wasting time on it.

[20]Death is not the worse thing that can happen to a person. Whether that's an agreement or another confrontation is hard to determine, You still have much to learn. Do you need to go on that pilgrimage now or can you buckle down and actually practice instead of goofing off?

We're gonna have some serious explaining to do, but for now

"Yes, cancel it, effective immediately."

How do we tell them?

Probably we just play it straight, with a healthy touch of the supernatural. Say that a vision of McCreary himself came upon us in the crypt of his relic, showing unto us his battle against the Great Worm. We need no longer look upon the battle's remnants; we have seen its unfolding first-hand!

Actually... explain this to the guard captain after we give the order to cancel. Better now than later.

[-]"...ah, yes Angel Alphira." Zachary nods, calling over an underling and handing him a hastily scribbled note. The other guard offers a snappy salute and leaves. "As for the matter yesterday, I deeply apologize for the actions of my guard. I can promise it won't happen again."

"If that's all Angel Alphira, I'll take my leave."

What now?

"I am going to give you a list of names.  If any of these individuals are currently Crusaders or training to be Crusaders, you will offer them a significant raise if they choose to train here, by my side.  You will also integrate them into my personal guard, and you will select one of them to become your lieutenant."

“McGee Foster, James Foster, Johnathan Shellton, Jesse Hardhouse, Erica Hail, Amanda Silversmith, 'Other' Eric Armstrong, John Frost, Quincy Black.”

“Do you anticipate any logistical problems in following these orders?”

We should replace the guards loyal to SEED with ones loyal directly to us.  They can infiltrate the Church and provide us with useful information, and I'd rather have them as our guards than agents of SEED dedicated to our “containment" and eventual murder.

"Your guard acted with... admirable zeal. I regret the misunderstanding."

[15] "Mother Nicole and The Crusader General have final say, but the Pontifex is pushing for more careful guards around you. He let the Crusader General have it, last I heard. I'll see what can be done, Angel Alphira, and get back to within the week." Zachary explains, scribbling down the notes.

"I regret it as well. Anything more, Mother?"
