A significant lull in the amount of items brought back by Hunters provides a welcome respite - the breakthroughs provided have been helpful to all walks of life, but there’s no denying that the toll of constant mad science can tax the stoutest mind. People are beginning to talk about how Ara Memoria should be able to pay back more on their debt, now that they've returned from an expedition...

^꧁Carn Feuerlyn^꧂

More burned and blasted pigeons arrive from Carn Feuerlyn, telling of harrowing tales of militarized machines becoming thicker and denser as the respective expeditions reach the Gate Plaza that will take them into the inner city. It would seem that in addition to the simple policing automata being reactivated, the ancient mining machines which drilled into the depths below have been brought back online and given grim purpose. Immense constructs of steel, it would take a madman to face a machine designed to drill through mountains with naught but mortal weaponry.

True war automata are also mentioned in the reports, the scorpion-hounds of the assault legion to be specific. Finding them in an urban setting isn’t terribly surprising, as they excelled in tight quarters, but it does indicate that a military force of scale has been subverted - or failed an assault on Carn Feuerlyn and was converted.

Worst of all are rumors and whispers of something new. A moonbeast that is a machine, a creature with blazing red eyes, raining fire from afar. Little reaches the public of this creature, other than that it exists, but it instantly becomes a topic of much debate both drunken and scholarly.
