It seems the world has turned on Sordland, but fear not- our cause it righteous and we shall not be had again.

The Union general frowned at the map.  While the Sordland's aggression was only into newly reunified land and not into the long-standing territory, it still represented an unfortunate loss.  The hastily erected fortifications were no match for the heavy Sordland artillery barrage.  Their advantage may be their downfall, however; the fortifications had been reduced well below usability, and would offer no protection for the invaders if they struck back now.

An adjutant came in and passed the general a sealed envelope.  The general nodded and opened it.  There were detailed notes, figures, and sketches, but the central message was loud and clear.

The bombers were ready.

The Union general, smoking his pipe, stewed in the camp chair in the command tent.  Not one of the fronts was going right.  The Hibernians inexplicably turned on the protection force and captured thousands of troops.  The Sordland advance was a slow endless grind.  Then the Vlosavi launched a suicidal strike into core Union territory... and succeeded?  Nothing was going as planned.

Sighing, he stood up and signaled the adjutant.  The original strategy was no longer going to succeed; they had to dig in a bit and take advantage of what opportunities they did have.

"Lieutenant, how do you like the beaches of Vlosavi?"
