It seems like forever because it turns out that this is actually a not quite as empty space lane as we thought it might be and there's been repeat customers, failed love stories, repairs and a murder investigation and all that, but we've only been on the job for like a week.

So I'm going to guess never.

CHATTY: "And how it is going nowadays, besides turning to heavier cargo loads?"

"It's going well. Since I started delivering electronics to more remote outposts and colonies rather than trying to squeeze myself into busy-lane crowds, that's it."

"Busy-lane? I am not familiar with the concept."

"Ah, it's merchant slang of sorts. Busy-lanes are straight connections between one regional capital and another. Basically running between two largest colonies. Heavy traffic, heavy policing by Fedpols, and even heavier competition. We've ran Delta Serpentis II-Morbius Prime lane for few months."

"And how was it?"

"Ah, quite difficult. Had to basically elbow and yell may way to planetside merchants so that they would buy my wares. And then I had to elbow and yell my way to local providers and suppliers so that I had something to take into the stars." He looks into the empty glass.

"I would like a Simpleton now." Another drink you haven't heard about, so you punch it into the console and...

CHATTY: "If you don't mind me asking, what's the most memorable place you've went to?" Vincent thinks for a while.

"Ah, well, hm, Earth I think, from the places I visited lately."

"Earth? Isn't it where humans come from?"

"So do the planetary museums say so, but I can't believe it. I mean, its three-quarters nuclear desert and one-quarter mountaintops with spaceports and habitation domes around them, and that place is supposedly birthplace of humanity? Gotta be some joke."

"I've read in an article that Wóda originates from Earth."

"Ah, yes, they have a whole museum about the thing. They even brew organic version of it, not for export because your corporation patented Wóda long ago, I've been told. Either way though, the view from said mountaintops was very peculiar. Light blue above you and sickly yellow below you with shimmering mirages of white and gold sands trying to pierce the toxic fog." Vincent muses for a bit.

"Yeah, right? The idea we were once confined to a single planet... really strange. Alien, even." Vincent takes another sip of his juice.

"Ah, no, I wouldn't think so. Except perhaps the leisure satellite of Cropfield III? It's like huge cylinder and in the center of it you have this miniature jungle with half-a-mile tall waterfall."

"That sounds quite pretty and quite expensive to maintain."

"I would bet, then again, its a leisure satellite with luxurious hotels and casinos and such. I'm sure they're raking in cash from all the visiting politicians and CEOs."
