BRUTE SQUAD (5/5)

BRUTE SQUAD

The alarm blares loud and flashes red as the Brute Squad is roused. Set deep inside a fortified bunker, the Brute Squad is woken from their cryogenic slumber.

"Brute Squad! Today our Kingdom needs you! The savage so-called “Space Vikings” are launching a surprise raid on our Capital! The palace is under heavy assault, we need YOU to extract her and get her to a safe location."

The projection of the moustached captain, uniform slightly dishelved, nodded at you.

"Gear up, Brutes."

Welcome to Brute Squad. Where you would roll "attack/damage/ punch this guy in the face" you auto critically succeed your roll. This applies to anywhere your brute strength would come in handy.

Downside, any other type of roll you auto fail. You can still do basic tasks, but anywhere where a bit of skill or deftness would come in handy, you fail. Cost of being so Brutish. You may select one stat that you may roll regularly.

Weapons
-Melee Weapons allow you to leverage your innate strength to do tremendous damage. Add your power level to the damage you do
-Heavy ranged weapons (machine guns to laser cannons) just do the weapons damage but can potentially damage more foes.
-Explosives are also good.

Health and Damage
You start with 3 HP. Most attacks will do 1 HP of damage. Most regular unenhanced foes will also have 1 HP of health.

You start off being able to do your Level's worth of damage in unarmed attack. This does mean you are able to kill most people with your bare hands.

Health: 3/3
Level:1
Preferred Attribute: BRUTE/ and also pick either( Fast/Smart/Talky/Wise)
Skills: None!
Equipment: (Pick 2)
-Melee Weapon: 1 +lvl damage (Spend 2 picks for a Powered Weapon, which is 2 +lvl damage and can melt things)
-Heavy Machine Gun: 1 damage, good against squads
-Laser Cannon: 2 Damage (Good against Armor)
-Missile Launcher: Fire missiles (BOOM)
-Belt of Grenades: Multiple Booms!

Yes this game is dumb. Yes you can sneak, use the environment for better effects, and make plans. Yes you can all just run up and punch people in the face.

Looking for around 5 players.

All of the above players are accepted!

Lumbering out of the bunker comes the Brute Squad.

From Hamm "Slab" Fistovich packing a heavy machine gun and a missile over his shoulder, to Betty Brutus rocking a laser cannon, each one is imposing and intimidating in their size and latent strength. Abraham "Arms" Annihilator wields a power sword, and next to him is Bernhard "Bulldog" Biceptivus packing an energized and weaponized saw. Last but certainly not least is Bobby "Speedfreak" Muscles, who uncharacteristically brings up the rear of the squad.

How were their memories after a time spent in Cryo? Uncertain. Did they know where they were? Also uncertain. What they did know is they had a Princess to save, and they were willing and able to hurt a lot of people to get that done.

Dropships streak through the sky, and fighters from both sides dance in the air, sending twisted metal screaming down to land in the city.

Off in the distance is the towering Palace. Streams of laser fire and exploding shells fill the air around it, but the dropships are numerous

Around the Brute Squad is a barely organized chaos, with officers shouting orders, trucks rumbling off carrying frightened militia. The Squad can see a few officers glance at them before deciding that dealing with them is someone else's problem.

The Squad must decide how to approach the palace. There are several trucks that you could take, but you may want to negotiate with an officer for their use. Or you could go on foot.

A small military outpost is surrounding you, so if you want to try to recruit anybody to help you out, take any additional military gear, try a bit of scouting, or do something else feel free. They are more a militia than a high tier military force, so no plasma cannons laying around for you.

Betty bravely commandeers a map of the terrain, hopefully being able to read it. Time is of the essence, and the other half of speed is not driving into a cliff.

Slab bravely commandeers a nearby officer, enthusiastically explaining that a princess is in danger right now and if we don't get access to the best, fastest vehicles available this very minute, you, yes you, could be held personally responsible for anything that happens to her in the meantime.

Bobby only knows how to do two things, kill and go fast so he elected to ignore what the others were doing and run as fast as he can towards the palace.

Bernhard halts a truck full of troops, parking his bulk in front of it and stating it's destination has changed. The truck will be going to the palace, with us on it alongside the troops.

-Betty, quite bravely, looks for a map. She finds a gaggle of junior officers clustered around a table. Using her above average height, she is able to see that it is indeed a map. She shoves a few officers aside and with a sweep of her arms sends the markers and bits and bob scattered over it to the ground so she can read it better.

(3)

After a few minutes puzzling out the map (and ignoring the "aww mans" and "what a jerk" from the junior officers) Betty is able to determine that there is central avenue that leads directly to the palace, and how to get there from their position.

-The trap had been set. The officer briefly glanced at the Brute Squad, accidently met the eyes of "Slab", who eagerly came over to "talk" with him.
(2)
Slab was quite enthusastic in telling the officer why they needed a vehicle to save the Princess. So enthusastic in fact he started to stumble over his words in his haste to get them out. It didn't help matters when Slab started poking him in the chest shouting that he would be responsible for the Vikings kidnapping the Princess.

Nearly in tears and panicking, he points to the nearest truck and tells Slab to take it, before running off to be anywhere else.

It is a beaten up thing, with a cloth covering the bed. A militia man hurridly throws the keys to slab before scurrying off. The truck is half unloaded with supplies, but there is plenty of room for the Brute Squad.

Transport Secured!

-Bobby runs in the direction (Northwest) of the palace. A few militia point at the speeding Brute as he runs into an alley.

-Bernhard resolute steps in front of truck hauling soldiers out of there, it screeches to a halt, inches away from him. The driver steps out and starts screaming at the Brute, who repeatedly points to the palace and tells the driver that he is going to the palace now. The driver yells for an officer, and the officer comes and starts shouting at the Brute that they have orders, the soldiers have a job to do and can't just rush off with the Brutes doing whatever they are doing. Bernhard keeps making his case for the militia to follow him but they don't seem to listen.

-Abe stands at the highest watchtower before returning the rest of the group. Asked what he discovered, he sagely informed them that there are indeed Space Vikings ahead, and Bobby seems to be running straight towards a group of them.

You have a Truck! Thanks to Betty's map, you can decide to take the fast direct route on the main avenue, or take a more winding path through the side roads.

-Driving takes a Fast check for dangerous situations or driving under pressure. Anyone can drive it down a road.

Betty climbs on top of the truck, bracing her heavy machine gun and preparing to "navigate".
