Question about playing as megabeasts.
« on: September 13, 2008, 11:28:44 pm »

What tag do I add to megabeasts to make them playable in adventure mode? I added [INDIV_CONTROLLABLE] but that dosen't seem to work.

You need to add an entry in the entity file for them, like this:
Code: [Select]
[ENTITY:TEST]
[INDIV_CONTROLLABLE]
[CREATURE:TITAN]

You might want to give them [INTELLIGENT] in their creature entry, and [CANOPENDOORS].

Ok, thanks. Anything else I might want to add to the entity file?

I think that should do it.  That's what I have for testing megabeasts and such in adventure mode, to see how they hold up against modded weapons.

So can wolves. I was playing a titan who had a (bought) exceptional steel two-handed sword and some lucky wolf tore my throat out. It was like the only injury i ever got with that guy. Was freakin' ridiculous.

But the mental image of a wolf jumping 3 stories from the ground more than made up for it.  :D

When I tried to play as a bronze colossus, I didn't know what the entity file needed, so I copied over most of the entity code for kobolds and made them colossi.  Then I forgot, and tried playing fortress mode.

Nothing like poking around and getting a "Thief!  Protect the hoard!" message, sighing in frustration, then spitting at the monitor when you zoom to a dozen 'C's milling about your entrance.

I think a kobold zerg is far more scary.

I think a kobold zerg is far more scary.

Quoted for truth. The last dwarf is injured, resting in bed in the lower left, and the kobolds don't know he's there. They never found him before he died of thirst. They instead swarmed into an empty bedroom, presumably fucking to replenish their numbers as there were originally twice as many of them before they ended my fort.

Raw hacking has consequences: if you don't get kobold thieves, you get year-1 sieges of 60+ kobolds.
