In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Have you considered doing that with all the vertebrates/civs? It's worth a shot.

"Urist McUristurist likes marksdwarves for their beardwarves." I like that.

If there is ever enough processing power to properly interpret randomly generated (travestied?) creature tags, Toady will surely program the engine for it... random creature genereration has nothing on this ;D
Just imagine the possibilities of pressing the "completely random game" button...

It'll be like someone shoved DF through a crazy madlibs program. Like one of those odd verses -

All mimsy were the borogoves,

Unless you never read anything of Lewis Carroll's, no. It's from Jabberwocky. It's just an example of a world translated into nonsensitalk.

Messing with the raws using the travesty generator is a neo colloquialism gold mine.  For instance, DIPLOMATTACK, from [DIPLOMATTACK:SPINERATOR] (which sounds awesome for all sorts of other reasons too).

[WEAPON_MACY] - A sort-of-but-not-quite-a-mace.
[WEAPON_ENT:ITEM_ARROW:COMMON] - I don't think ents would be keen on arrows.. or as arrows...
[CURRENCY:GOBLING_RATE:ELF] - Erm, uh.. what's the gobling exchange rate on elves?
[HEAD:COMMON] - Good for creatures and coins alike!
[trACE:UNTHINKABLE] - Thieves and hackers flock to this civ.
[ETHIC:EAT_SAPIENT:WAR:NAME_SUPPORT:ANY_SAME_WAR] - I can't quite make it out. Something about eating anyone whose name is the same as the current war you're fighting.
[PANTS_PANTS_GREAT] - Great pants.
[ETHIC:MAKE_TROPHY_ANIMAL_TRAPCOMP_ENORMOUSTACHE_TEMPLATE:BRAINER] - Yeah, you can do it if you don't break your brain figuring out what it means.
[CAN_HAMMER_WAR] - Pretty neat, I'd say.
[CREATURE_MAKER] - Erm, yeah...
[WOOD_ANIMALS:UNCOMMON] - Yeah, you don't see them much. Except in sieges.
[ARMOR:ITEM_TRAPCOMP_MENACINGS:COMMON] - Well, these ARE dwarves. One of these days they'll figure out ways to make armor menacing with enormous corkscrews.
[WEAPON:ITEM_SHOES_BOOTS_LOW:COMMON] - Will this thing please stop making GWB references?
[PANTS:ITEM_PANTS:ITEM_WEAPON_HAMMER] - Dwarves can wear hammers ANYWHERE. And instead of ANYTHING.
[ETHIC:EAT_SAPIENT_DRUM] - If one became sapient, you too would do something awful to it after a few nights.
[INSTRUMENT_MODIFIED_IF_EXTREME_ROAD:NAME:horn] - This makes an odd sort of sense. But I don't see a point in modifying just the horn, some suspension and drivetrain work would also be needed.
