I'm not even bothering with downloading/playing DF atm, and I haven't been for like 4-5 months. There's just too many updates and bug fixes coming, and I prefer to play a more "stable" version, perhaps when Toady is working on the next major update. Oh well, it'll be all the sweeter when I can finally sit down and enjoy the game again :D

WTF are you talking about?  By your logic, you'll be waiting until the game is 'finished' which will never happen.  31.18 was released in November and could be considered a 'stable' version.  So much for 4-5 months.

I just downloaded 0.31.25 and the LNP, removed the "Dwarf Fortress 0.31.21" folder and replaced it with a folder named "Dwarf Fortress 0.31.25" with the most recent version, launched the LNP .exe, switched my tileset and started playing!

Everything works fine so far :)

Edit: Everything but stonesense

I'm a strong proponent of living up to the expectations of the first word of the titled pack. All that is too much effort.

If y'all are that lazy you don't have to update every time a new version comes out.

At one point, .21 was the newest version too :P

Wow.  Put DF31.25 into LNP.31.21(vers 8.2) and it works great.

About 8-10 FPS faster, and dwarves crippled since the first assault 4 years ago are walking around, abet very slowly.  Also, soap seems to work, and I have crystal glass!

Only issue is none of the LNP utilities work - says it can't find process.  I'll try using version 8.5 in the weekend, unless there's a simple work around?

Go to the modding section and find ones that work?

This. Not sure what I did wrong or how to correct it. Anyone have any answers?

*Edit* Ok so found a mouse.png file in my old installation. Anyone know why this is required? I don't use a mouse when playing and haven't installed any mouse mods. Kinda weird.

You totally should use a mouse! It helps designate stuff, for instance.
I have no idea about the problem though.

So we got monsters above, monsters below, dwarves in the middle and a party in the dining hall. Sounds good to me.
If all else fails, remember one thing:  kittens are delicious, nutritious little goblin-baiters, cavern explorers, and ambush-finders.

Would moving a graphic pack of 31.25 still work? Been playing Ironhand's latest update, so I'm just curious to see if I could put put it in the Lazy Newb pack and still be able to play.

Edit: Tried it and not working. Oh well...

Not sure what you mean. Easiest way, just download the latest Ironhand pre-packaged version, extract and re-name the folder from "DF" to "Dwarf Fortress" (So that it looks like LazyNewbPack/Dwarf Fortress/Dwarf Fortress.exe)
I'm going to try to get an official update out later today though, I'm a bit busy/distracted though atm.
