if doing that would could go into stealth and use long lasting methods like lighting the fiend on fire or body swap to a scapegoat so you could murder the fiend with out pissing off the locals. you end up getting depending on who you swap bodies either a new quest to kill the guy who kill the demon or a ransack town due to they all kill each other due to a Loyalty crusade(swap with someone from the same town).
