I'm a bit confused with the questing in 40.x. I can navigate the menus, talk to people and find out the things troubling a city. I travel to the locations they mention through the quick travel but I can't seem to find the objective. I get to the general area but not sure exactly where to go on the main map. Is there something I'm missing? Is there a way to make finding your target easier or am I to just wander around the map until I bump into the creatures by accident?

did you ask for directions?

also, if it's a lair you're looking for, it'll be a 1x1 hole in the ground or the side of a hill
for camps, look for a pile of 110% legally acquired trade goods surrounded by upstanding model citizens

So I'm getting to jump into adventure mode for the first in a long while and I was wondering if there is anything critical I should know about adventure mode these days?

Get a companion before nightfall unless you want to deal with bogeymen.

Might want to train on some small animals before trying to take on monsters or bandits.

You will also want armour, and possibly a weapon if the one you start out with is sub-par. You can usually find gear in castles and mead-halls, both of which are found in human sites.

Also add [NATURAL_SKILL:DISCIPLINE:15 (or a lower number) ] to all creatures in the raws or otherwise almost nothing will fight back when you attack them.

Anyway to make people not stand around talking about fighting and death and to actually fight? If I kill some bandits, the rest just stand there saying "the horror!" etc.. instead of being hostile making it easy to walk up and lop their head off.

In the folder where you have dwarf fortress open the "raw" folder, then "objects" folder. Open "creature_standard.txt" and add [NATURAL_SKILL:DISCIPLINE:15] to dwarves, humans, elves and goblins

Im talking about people being non-hostile towards you when they should be hostile such as entering a bandit camp and killing a bandit. The rest will not be hostile and wont try to attack you.

Lawl even with 15 discipline everyone runs

Have you generated a new world after changing the raw files?

Hmm now whenever I generate a world all clothes are "large" for my dwarf in the fortress and hillocks. I can only find fitting clothes from dwarfs I kill. Any reason for this never had it happen before? It says my dwarf is average sized and doesn't say he is short in description.

No, that's a bug that's been around for a while.

For some reason clothes in sites tend to be human-sized.

Should keep generating new worlds until I get one without it or should I re-install?

No, the bug is there every time and a reinstall won't do anything.
