I'll go with turquoise.

My position is well befitting of an eventual maritime trading city-state. Excellent.

Interesting. Orange for my color.

I'll take Dark Purple then, as Orange and Red have been taken.

Or I could just pass on the extra wood and rush military, that kinda works too.

Ahra, you seem to have misunderstood a couple things. First of all, bows take two labor to make, not just one. Second, raising military units takes no labor at all. Your turn actually works out fine, because in this case these corrections balance out, but it's something to keep in mind for the future.

How does changing equipment affect level? IE, could I train spearmen now, then give them shields next turn while training them to level 2?

Let's say upgrading a unit's equipment takes no time, but lowers the unit's level by 1 (to a minimum of 1). So, yes, you could.

Good to know for the future, but I'll wait until next turn anyway. I'd have to re-write my flavor if I did it this turn.

No, flint provides a passive bonus. You don't harvest it.

I rather like this lack of a rule requiring flavor text, if it means that everybody gets their turns in within 24 hours.
