 Cobwebs can be crafted into silk. That and wood makes beds. They reset your spawn location.

 And ahahahaha, somebody on the server just broke too many shadow orbs and released the eye boss on the home. Nobody equipped to deal with it was anywhere near. The slaughter that ensued...

So, I get how to remove wooden walls (axe) but how do you remove platforms and workbenches?

So what is Terraria? As far as I can puzzle it out it's a 2d take on Minecraft, but the Steam page and OP aren't terribly descriptive. All I get off the first few pages is talk of compatibility issues, connection woes and key-remap scripting. So why would I want to own it?

This is intended as a serious question, not a crude put-down of the game.

First things first. Never, EVER call it 2dMinecraft if you want to maintain a healthy connection between your arm and chest.
Second, this will open your eyes to the glory that is Terraria.

You need a hammer to get rid of furniture and back walls.

Basically it is metroidvania with a minecraft spin. It is a side scroller sandbox. You can build homes and npcs will come to live in them and you journey reground or mine and explore dungeons and defeat bosses and monsters.
