Bunch of spiky balls and muramasa work for me when fighting the big worm.

Finally got around to playing Terraria again.

I found my first shadow chest while roaming in the underworld, looking for hellstone. Too bad I was missing the keys. Oh well...

So shadow chests contain something useful other than the hundreds of magic mirrors?

According to the version history and the wiki, they contain some hellstone-tier items that used to be dropped by it's inhabitants, and the dark lance.

Time to dig just a leetle bit  further, piercing the netherworld with my mighty pick.

How do you see if you've any keys or not- are they a standard item?

Yeah, they go in the regular inventory. You don't need to hotbar them, just have them.

Shadow keys are multiuse, dungeon ones aren't.

Also, shadow keys are dungeon treasures.

I'd like a giant giant boss.

Like that hand the one of you did.

What if the boss was the whole planet, and you had to do macroengineering to kill it while fighting off its increasingly destructive attempts to kill you?

Then it'd be justified in doing so. You've been digging into its core.

I want a battle in the sky, where ranged weapons are the safest way to go. And the boss can vomit grenades, and maybe lava.
