-34 new enemies, 4 bosses, 221 items, 4 sets of armor, 21 new accessories
-Diablo random item attributes, positive and negative
-3 new npcs, one of which reforges item properties
-hard mode, kill the guide and a boss in hell to unlock new stuff in the world that is much tougher
-pumps, plumbing, binary switches
-biome background images
-new lighting that is softer and more colorful
-npc housing interface
-new female sprites and hopefully customization options
-bunch of new types of items. Drills, saws, ect....

I'm sure I've missed something.

Not being negative, just commenting that everyone's acting like this update will last them all eternity. Everyone will just rush to get everything and we'll be right back where we are now, except with a handful more toys to play with while we wait for the update.

No, you're right, telling people how they're going to enjoy the update and for how long and raining on their parades, there's nothing negative about that at all. People are excited. Maybe you can let them be excited.

Ohey, fair confirmation. Just noticed an actual sprite of the non-goblin, non-wizard new NPC, over on the bandcamp page, which was linked earlier in this thread. The redhead is definitely going to have something to do with the new mechanical stuff going in.

But yeah. Looking forward to thursday. Thor's Day indeed, heh. Update hammer comin' down, whee.

Some of my favorite games ever are ones that took only a few hours to do everything (Portal, anyone?)

Quality over quantity.  Yeah, people will whine.  People will always whine.  Doesn't mean excitement doesn't have legitimate cause.

I'll probably get back into Terraria for a week or two, and I'm totally looking forward to it.

 I only point this out because people who complain like that annoy me to all hell.

 This is preemptive guild-trip seeding. These people won't speak up within a month due to seeding the idea of this being silly.

1. Enjoyable for a playthrough (read: Getting everything) or two. Moreso if you're into the whole construction thing. It's worth the normal price, definitely worth $4.
2. Hasn't been very actively lately (I don't think, I haven't been very active myself), unless there's a server beyond Kael's that's got folks visiting. Activity will probably see a massive spike around the end of next week :P
