It would be nice to see an infinite boulder generator that constantly spits out boulders when activated, and connected to it would be a five-second timer.

It would be found in dungeons, and boulders roll predetermined paths, or based on the direction of the launcher.

What would be an awesome trap would be if there were hardmode enemy spawners.

Stood on that plate? Have a facefull of corrupter. No we don't care that you're in copper and only owned the game for an hour.

Yeah, that one too. It would be nice to have multiple outcomes from a single statue (slimes), or specific monster statues, like what you said about the corruptors. The armor stand would be cool if it summoned a possessed armor, or if some of the preexisting statues like the imp statue would gain new uses.

 More devious traps may be nice for a variation on those generated underground loot houses. Small generated dungeon rooms that can generate really cruel things inside but also pretty good loot. Players would fear and respect these for including self-destruct traps, lava pumps/locked doors and dark pressure plates.

Y'all talking that the bosses are easy to beat with some heart statues, how'd you find so many of them? I searched a dungeon and found bunch of statues that do nothing, + a star statue.

Dunno, never found any (but then again I don't do so much spelunking altogether). However I found a few other statues in random caverns, so your best bet would probably to check these out.

You don't even need heart statues, just a bit of forethought or one of those cheaty hellstone enclosures + cross necklace.

I finally got around to learning how to make mechanisms, and man, I really like it.

I've already lined the outside of my base tower with arrow traps on a 3 second timer to help deal with all the flying hallow monsters that I get swamped with each blood moon, I put a bomb statue on a slow timer for infinite free bombs right before I head down my hellavator, replaced the west entrance door with an active stone one for better security, and put some arrow traps to a pressure plate on the east entrance to kill all those goddamn bunnies that are always trying to get in.

Now, if only I could rig a shotgun trap, ala Fallout 3, that would just be the greatest.

Building my highway through hell, got my full molten armor and am currently dynamiting the magma to get it out of the way. I think I did it wrong.

Speaking of arrow traps, I, and Nuthulu on Kael's server tested out a huge wall of arrow traps against the destroyer. It worked surprisingly well, with each barrage totalling at least 300 + damage if he was within the range of the arrow traps while being at a vertical position.

I went down into hell with a stack of obsidian skin potions and water walk potions after setting up the appropriate farms and working them for a bit and then leveled a 5 tall corridor through hell from one side to the other. Next up: Brick floor and ceiling and back walls. Might go with obsidian.

Yeah, obsidian skin pots. Funny thing is, I hardly encounter any enemies near magma when I have one active, but the second they wear off a hellbat shows up to knock me into the lava before I can take another swig. It's a conspiracy, I tell ya.
