I've painted a random piece of rubbish cluttering my table (an AA battery) in Photoshop, using a Wacom Bamboo tablet:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

oh and as another completely unrelated question, which Bamboo tablet? was thinking of getting one for myself since they are cheap but good.

Wacom Bamboo Pen.
Beware though, working with a tablet is more difficult than it seems.

this means that a donation of 30 dollars to a developer that did not deliver would equal 4.769*10^-14 hitlers stolen from you
that's like half a femtohitler
and that is terrible

Naturally, I have been talking with several people who provide me with good advice, everyone says that Wacom's stuff is good, and the Bamboo is actually affordable.

^SO what this guy says. I have a Bamboo Pen, and it's great. It's a little small compared to my large screen, but still very awesome once you get used to it.

It should be much faster. And maybe get rid of the bars in the eyes completely.

Decided to try to make a new avatar with my terrible amazing art skills.

I decided to keep the penguin theme, but my problem is that I'm not really that good when it comes to thinking up things, so I decided to make a penguin version of me, trying to draw a picture while suffering from my creativity block:

^ It looks cute! :3

Mountains!!
I've got a fractal heightmap generator up! :D
Now only if I knew where to use it, or how to export a matrix of numbers to some 3D rendering program so I can add trees and stuff. :P

Btw, that image is from Excel, of all places.

I think I'll post some other terrain later if I remember.

Got myself a nice little 3D design program by the name of blender, made myself some stuff in it too.
the first neat thing I made

and a bowl I threw together in 5 minutes, its not great, but its pretty good.

This time I made a creature I once made on Spore, called Carnivorous Ursius.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

More humdrum terrain to the average viewer, but to me it's marvelous that a few lines of code creates pretty realistic land o.O

For example, in the upper image you can almost imagine that the purple and green are undersea, so that it's a seaside with two blue islands.

that is actually pretty cool, there are a LOT of applications for stuff like that.

EDIT: (speaking of which, from what I hear there are a few landscape modelers that can make good looking landscapes from premade heightmaps.)

Hmmm, if I had both Blender, and GalenEvil's promised program that would export heightmaps to greyscale, there would be a way of using that to create terrain models.

combine that with Blenders new render engine (cycles, as used in my above images) and im sure you could make some cool stuff.

Eh. Don't have Blender.
And I don't have the time or will to learn it just for terrain making. ;P

About large images:
Code: [Select]
would restrict the height. width works too.

ah thanks, had forgotten the tag for that. oh and btw blender is 100% free. not even some stupid premium bullshit, and learning basic modeling, animation, rendering, and lighting takes less then a day, you could probably be churning out passable stills in a few weeks.

(speaking of which, type in luxrender on google images, its considered the best photorealistic renderer and damn can those people do amazing stuff, it will make you doubt every advertisement you ever see again.)
