I find that grid to be ugly and jarring. It would probably work better if you cut it down to 1 pixel per side (by only giving tiles a border on the right and bottom sides), and maybe having the border as a 50% opacity black over the tile underneath.

For tiles, I don't like how the gold striping on the walls look when placed adjacent horizontally. Also, you have the gold stripe only on one side for the end walls facing the viewer, and on both sides for the full walls.

The level design looks fine. I'd have probably broken the upper left room and a bit of the lower left room into tiny cubicle things, and it could use a few assorted objects to break up the 'large empty floors' aesthetic and for a bit of tactical difference. A statue here, a potted plant there ... Maybe something partially blocking one of the hallways.

I need that grid for sprite placement ;v

As for emptiness, it's needed so people don't conga in one-wide lines (then again that would ramp up difficulty, hmm).

Is that samurai robot inspired on Samurai Jack? It reminds me of a particular episode.

Nah. I ripped off the guy's pose from this concept art for C&C Generals, because I suck at drawing poses myself. :(

Actually no, but I think I remember the episode you're talking about. This was mostly a random archer that kinda got turned robotic during the drawing process X)

@Comrade

It looks pretty ok I'd say, the arms might use a bit more bulk but I think it's going to be fine once you add clothes over them. Tho the legs seem slightly off, not sure if it's because of the weird angle of the floor but the right one seems slightly shorter.

The torso is very heavily built compared to the arms and legs (particularly legs), or the legs are rather skinny. The head isn't too badly off, though.
