Fair warning, only get it if you have a friendship that won't be irrecoverably ruined by the two of you being repeatedly driven to the absolute brink of fury by miscommunication.

:P

Because of reasons (those reasons being "I'm still in school" and "My parents don't approve of me spending money on video games") I'm typically only interested in the things that are free.

Not to mention my PC has the stock graphics card (An Intel 4000 or some other basic junk like that) so I can barely play anything UNITY WEB PLAYER GAMES and modern-day 2D GAMES without the thing heating up like a toaster.

Ah well. I at least have internet access.

Bloody hell, mate, you could have at least washed the unidentifiable gunk off the poor thing, right?

But I may make an exception for you.

Maybe.

Didn't see this the first time 'round.

That there is a chunk of one of those sponges that inflate when you apply water, without the water. It was originally being used to pry the keyboard up so some unidentifiable issue with its connection cable would stop being screwy and let the keyboard work. Then the keyboard stopped working entirely, but the cooling fan is fucked, so it's just prying up the keyboard to improve airflow. Still overheats and shuts down on warm days, though.

It's basically what would happen to a mediocre Apple laptop after eight years of incautious use in a third world country, but it's never been out of the US and whichever glorious chunk of dystopia in the PRC manufactured it.

Mine too.
Not the other problems, but wow. You do need a new computer, worse than me. Do you have a donations page somewhere? I'd be willing to chip in a few bucks. At the very least I can offer some wishful thoughts in your direction.

Yee. I hate to think of what an Acer laptop under the same conditions would look like.
