Well, I think we'd all disagree with that. The Party's self-centeredness and refusal to have anything but absolute power over its citizens lives (and, for the non-proles, their heart and minds) is one of the big reasons people consider them the antagonists.

I bring both of those statements into question. Winston did not hate Big Brother with all his mind, merely the conscious parts, the parts that went along with what he thought; there were plenty of parts which went with the programming he had been instilled with since childhood. There were also parts of his mind too busy with other things to care about Big Brother--the majority, I'd say. Similarly, Luna has large parts of her mind that don't care about killing, or that don't want to kill--it's just that the parts that want to kill are dominant and acknowledged by her conscious mind (and are, hence, the dangerous ones).

Kyle isn't a fertility god, he has a fertility-god-like fertility. If he was a fertility god, he would have control over it. (He would also have several other traits.)

Depends what parts of the Party you're talking about, I guess. And I remember that it was rather ambiguous in the book how much of their propaganda the Inner Party believed, and how much they inforced for alternative reasons. Or something like that. It's been a while since I've read it.
