I'm seeing a whole lot of kittens and not a lot of guardsmen holding the line

I'm working on it ya git, had to re-upload all the pics. Anyone know a better image hosting service?

EDIT: gonna try imgur, cause photobucket keeps fucking up. Uuuuugh, it also apparently broke the previous post's images.

EDIT2: do they work now? They should, used imgur this time. If anyone wants, I can also re-upload the pics for the previous posts sometime, just give a yell.

EDIT3: gonna use something else than imgur next time, pics seem too small, but like hell I'm redoing all those links AGAIN.

Yeah, but the images seem so small when I use rhat, and it doesn't seem to allow me to link to the bigger ones. Though maybe I'm doing something wrong here, I'll try again some other time. Doesn't imgur delete pics after a while though?

Probably. Will try to get it right on the first go next time, fixing all the links is annoying.

This makes me feel like organising some team games someday after exams are over though. Anyone in here would be up for that?

Or maybe I'll do a let's play of sorts, create a little 'story' campaign. Not sure how that'd go though, seeing as there's only skirmishes. Hmm.

I've got some screenshots left over from some A.I. matches. Let's have a look.

This was a match with the previous version of "Ultimate Apocalypse". Me as the Imperial Guard holding off against the endless tides of Greenskins.



The aftermath of which is shown here. Many Orks died in the making of this image. Hearing all the cannons, turrets and Reaver Titan firing at once is both very loud and very awesome.



A change of pace. Here is a lone squad of Guardsmen, lead by their Commissar, embarking on a suicide mission behind the lines of a massive Tyranid invasion. Their goal was to capture a Critical Location to enable the building of the "Basilisk Magnus". A huge stationary artillery cannon that enabled the day to be won by shelling the Tyranids into oblivion.
This last image was done using the new version of the mod. Each faction gets a few new units as well as two new factions being worked into the mod; "Chaos Daemons" and "Inquisitorial Daemon Hunters".

I would be interested in playing a game or few.

I feel like once the games get too big it ends up going downhill 'attack-move' style.

Eh, kind of? Factions do have access to titan units that serve as a solid central point for assaults. There's also super weapons like nukes, warp storms and so on that can be fired at enemy bases.

Imperial Guard have the most flexibility with options. You can build the huge artillery to weaken enemy positions, various planes to perform bombing runs and drop troops behind lines, Reaver and Warhound titans to go straight through the enemy along with about 8 different types of Baneblades.

Dark Eldar have base cloaking, fast moving cloaked titans and worldwide moral draining effects. Eldar have large ships, Necrons have worldwide reanimation, phasing, machine possessing and the Aeonic Orb for titan killing.

There is a lot of choices to go around just throwing units at each other, but playing a huge battle of base defence against Orks or Tyranids is great fun. Building walls and three deep rows of turrets backed up by artillery and a titan leads to some spectacular displays of firepower.

Oh yeah, a very fun round was me vs pancaek, where he got to defend a point for as long as he could (playing tau) against an onslaught of orks. Round one, just some regular boys and nobs, nothing special, hardly made it to his line. Second wave, tons of gretchin to screen a bunch of vehicles, started making some dents. Then a 'bonus round' of exploding squigs (man that was hilarious), then a round of nothing but slugga and shootas. He lost half his forces there. Then, a stompa to finish the deal.

Seeing these screenies made me install soulstorm again (damn ye, foorish bay12), and I'm currently doing a campaign as the imperial guard, and after getting rid of the sisters of battle, I'm kind of just stomping the dark eldar? I didn't remember them being so puny :v

Altough the fact I have the sister's faction ability and a decent honour guard has probably something to do with it.

Are Primarchs even capable of rational thought? I'm starting to think the reason they're so large is that they're half Ork or something >.>
