I like the polish translation of Prymarcha and that its basically "Glorious Example"...fits thematically...
also didn't know that "Orden" was used in Russian and Polish too heh. And yup we use it as the equivalent of a Chapter. Chapter itself translates to Kapitel which would be the Chapter of a Book...which sounds hilarious because i recently had to fix a:

Kapitelmeister and his Kapitelbrüder <- you get to guess once what that means.

also another favorite for those who care:

silvery lance of power (aka a ship-mounted lance weapon firing at another ship) became "versilberte lanze der macht" which translates back as "silvered lance of might" basically evoking the picture of somebody throwing an actual lance or something...

anyway

Who is Chapter Master Smashfucker...i feel like i am not getting the reference here.

One of the best things about a whore language like English, imo.
You want to make up a sci-fi/fantasy term for something you just do it.

Am interested what "witcher" is in polish now actually.

Chapter Master Smashfucker is a "build it yourself" chapter master of the Iron Hands chapter.
He is almost universally regarded as the most OP model in the game, with ~5 attacks either AP3/shred or S8AP2, Toughness 5, 2+, 3++ and a 2+FNP.

On the table he's frankly invincible. I don't think anybody has bothered making fluff about him.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

It's a cheesy Space Marine Chapter Master build someone on /that/ worked out a while back, largely based around being basically impossible to kill. Murderwings is the opposite, being a glass cannon that will shred everything but had better not run out of attacks before the enemy run out of wounds.

Edit: don't forget his Eternal Warrior

I personally think that Prymarcha is genius, though a lot of Poles disagree.
Kapitelmeister is Chapter Master, while Kapitelbruder is... Chapter Brother, I guess.

Witcher in Polish is Wiedźmin, male version of Wiedźma - Witch, so the translation seems okay. However, it should be noted that I heard Wiedźmin only a few times outside Witcher universe, it's an pretty rare word. Certainly better than the original translation - Hexer.

Could just imagine if the original series had been called "The Warlock"

Also I'm pretty sure that's a standard Russ, not the Demolisher
Ah, you're right. I saw the plow, and automatically figured the two had to be the same, as it was the only one that had a plow in the 1d4chan article. After further investigation, the plow is optional.

I was thinking about doing a Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, or even Deathwatch game, then remembered how much of a pain in the ass they were to get up and running. Nooope.

I've been thinking about making a 40k forum game where Chaos are the good guys (that is, they're actually the good guys) and the Imperium are the bad guys. Never plan on running it, I just thought it'd be a fun thought exercise. Here's the intro for the game:

I mean, it's 40k. Every side can be the good side (except for Dark Eldar) if you tilt your head and squint hard enough.

What sort of ruleset would it use?

Even Dark Eldar are the good guys from their own perspective.

They are the rightful inheritors of the Eldar empire, the continuation of a legacy millions of years old and the entire galaxy belongs to them. They prey on the other Eldar who have betrayed their heritage, the humans who have the gall to squat amongst the ruins of their ancient realm, the bestial Orks and the myriad pathetic xenos who ply their trade unpermitted through space that is in truth the property of the Eldar.

In taking captives and seizing loot they are simply claiming what is theirs from the those who would contest their undeniable supremacy.

I'm talking about good by our standards of morality, not the morality of the side itself.

Yeah kind of doesn't work.

Not with the Orks,

not with the Dark Eldar

and certainly not with the Tyranids...or the Imperium...or Chaos...or...really anyone in that universe.

By our modern (going by western european here) moral standards basically everyone is a horrible dick in Warhammer.

Dark Eldar are torturers of the worst kind literally prolonging your life through decades of torture so they can eat your soul...you can't turn that around.
Tyranids are mindless feasting machines...well since they are not sentient they can't really be good or evil.
Orks are living weaponry so i am hesistant to affix them a moral standpoint at all. But if we have to they are literally folks who live for murdering others...so theres that. No way to turn that good
The Imperium is a Fascist Theocracy who supresses any and all free will and most of its people. You can't turn them good by our moral standards. Same goes for Tau.
Chaos is a mix of Torture Porn, Bio-Terrorism and yum Slaughter. The only ones with any moral ambiguity are Tzeentchs folks. But considering all that involuntary motivation...nope evil.
really we could go on here but there is only the Eldar who are vaguely ambiguous in moral terms.

You have to abandon our own classicaly standards of morality to make anyone in there a good guy.

Well, with Imperium, regular Eldar and Tau you can say that it's the neccessary evil that they need to commit to survive. Necrons, as their motivation now is, IIRC, cut off realspace from Immaterium to stop all this Chaos bullshit happening, could be also argued to be good guys, even if they're also huge dicks that want to conquer everything.
I mean, I am pushing Necrons in there just to make all this stuff fit with the old 1st/2nd Edition Forces of Order stuff, but eh.

The point I am making is that every group outside of non-sentient Tyrannids, bio-weapon Orks, and "actually-the-only-really-evil-race" Dark Eldar, most of the others (as a whole) come up as neutral at worst and good depending on how much you tilt your head and squint. The reason for that is that as a whole, they are not sadistic like the Dark Eldar are.

Chaos is a bit weirder, but the Gods themselves are releases from Rationality rather than inherently evil.

Mind you... The Chaos gods if not evil are definitely malevolent.
