I did not yet read the OP. :x

Name: Mister "Harlequin" Crow
Gender: Male
Nationality: Any
Appearance: Any

Preferred class: MEC (Pathfinder)
Preferred weapon: MEC weapons
Preferred equipment: Flamethrower as secondary
Preferred tactics: Will always use the flamethrower when possible.
No fist of fury?

@tryrar: Your HTML link is broken :P
I would vote a YES for Training Roulette.
Asia is my vote.

Also, aw. The starting country does not include the Philippines...unlike the unmodded XCOM (judging from wiki).

For Second Wave options, I'll vote for Damage Roulette and Absolutely Critical (in addition to the ones already chosen), and vote against Training Roulette.

The starting countries only includes Council Nations, which the Philippines has never been one of. The starting country is basically just which one you get a satellite over first, AND it gives a nifty bonus (which I liked to the wiki page for). Lots of options, there, even multiple for the same country in a lot of cases.

I misunderstood a lot there. Oops. :-X Should've listened to that one voice wondering why the countries match satellite country-targets there.

I just really hope the expanded nationalities take in a ton of choices. :) Looking into the LW files--it is was(?) skewed towards having more American-origin than all others (in the presumably pre-Beta 15 files anyway). Which is a bit strange considering the international scope of XCOM.

...This. Australia is a nice place for training under lethal conditions, heat and spiders XCOM training grounds.

I'll switch my vote to U.K. AP might be more useful than increased accuracy.

Wouldn't a permanent stat-wide boost to everyone be better given that we can research most of the bonuses in the starting countries that way?

Actually, yeah. Let's set up shop in Hell Australia. If we research Alien Materials ASAP we can get phoenix cannons for our fighters, so the early boost isn't as important.

Quote from: changelog
Phoenix Cannon is back (replacing Phoenix Coilgun). It is available at Alien Materials and is probably a middling upgrade to the missiles -- it has base laser cannon armor piercing (enough to do full damage to Raiders) and slightly higher damage per second than Avalanche, and all the shots should mean it should provide more consistent results than the missiles.
Added foundry project "Phoenix Coilguns" that improves all existing Phoenix Cannon to Phoenix Coilgun stats and is available after researching Gauss Weapons.

Penetrator weapons means we can much more effectively fight UFOs at the beginning. We'll get more missions: so more materials and XP.

5 stat points are not a lot, to be honest. More than made up for with the extra XP from more downed UFOs.
