In other news, I got stood up for a third time meeting someone to make friends and talk tarot shop. I get life's busy, they have stuff cropping up, and I'm just a stranger that they owe nothing to, but man! I'm generally, not specifically annoyed about it.

Should have not tried after the first time getting stood up. No one should tolerate that shit. People that are like "sorry I'm too busy to text" are making excuses. Fuck em.  Say what you mean, mean what you say or get the fuck out of my face and my life.

Yeah, third time being stood up is either a bad thing or a really good excuse where you turn to the camera filming the movie you're in. Can a good reason happen? Yes. Is it likely? Nope.

Missed that the vertebrate biology essay had been posted, due in 4 days. Two 1000 word essays. Ugh.

Tomorrow is revision for evolutionary biology (Which fucking suuuuuuuucks), Wednesday is the exam itself, then Thursday/Friday will be double essay time. Then I've got a field trip writeup and an online exam due on the 31st.

Then I'm free!

Except not, because I have to head back to uni and do some more work to catch up with the second year field work that happens at the end of first year that I missed because I joined in second year.

Yaaaaaaaaaay.

I so not miss university at all

More evolutionary theory, I guess? What causes certain strategies to evolve, how some strategies supplant others, and with this lecturer an awful lot of "This is what I did! Let's shoehorn it into the lecture!". The issue isn't the subject per se, it's that the lecturer was so bad she Pavloved me into hating it.

Yeah, I'm going to have to start a food diary, see what's setting off my GERD. Had an unpleasant night last night. Not bad enough to wake me up, but bad enough that my coffee's causing some pain on the way down without being overly hot. I've taken some antacid solution and it's slowly settling after that, but better to avoid it in the first place.

EDIT: Thinking about it, exam stress may be doing this. And shitty diet because I'm suffering exam stress and don't feel like eating properly. Also absurd amounts of caffeine.

Anyways, right now it seems that anything going wrong with my stomach causes nausea. It's become a standard response to anything. Right now I've got trapped gas, probably caused by the shitty diet. I can tell because I'm farting and gurgling like a motherfucker. And I've got nausea that comes and goes based on how much gurgling's going on.

That sucks. For what it's worth, I'm wishing that didn't happen to you. Four times is a bit much.

Yeah, shit sucks no matter how you slice it. Person like that's never going to be worth your time, so at least you found out now rather than further into a frienship.

That's why I'm very quick to move on now. After a couple years of doing the dating app scene and seeing just how flakey people are these days, if someone's actions don't match their words I cut them out of my thoughts immediately. Whether it's romantic or just a friendship.

People that want to be around you will find a way to make that happen and make it a priority. People that just like the attention will say whatever it takes to get what they need and then walk away.

Basically this. There are too many worthless guys out there and just as many worthless girls. If they're going to stand you up 4 times then I don't see how they are worth your time. If some guy did that to me I'd tell him to lose my number. If we're being honest I'd also eat a pint of ice cream, but still. You're not the main character in some rom com with the joke being the 7th time is the charm.

It makes for a good story, anyways and also i treated myself to a flight of whiskey samples at a nearby distillery. I'm not taking it personally or hurting especially bad about it, it's just a big 'are you kidding me' kind of thing. On the bright side, one of the staff at said distillery is apparently also into tarot and maybe I can make friends with them when they're back from traveling.

It's all just very silly.

If relationships were easy, everyone would have one.

That said.....there are a lot of people out there that want something without doing anything. And I'm just over having my time and attention wasted by those people.
