So updating this might be a good idea.

AA has been selected. The guard chasing down the rebels can be rolled.

Spoiler: Dice (click to show/hide)

“Go on!” shouts Celling. He tells the rest of the soldiers to follow the plan and regroup at the entrance to the short wing of the dock.

“I’m catching up!” Unit 5 shouts over the radio. “They’re heading for the boat! They’re -  AUUUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!”

A bone-chilling scream pierces through the radio for a few seconds before the line goes dead. Flashes of light can be seen in the alleyway and moans of pain can be dimly heard.

Before Celling can even process this, however, there is a new voice on the radio. It’s Fansworth, the guy that Padelheb sent.

Hey Celling? You need the backup yet?

“Backup?” Celling asks.

Yeah. The Cherubs that I brought from Antarctica. I have some of the uplift dogs here too. They’ve been freshly neural remapped, of course.

“Neural remapping?” says Celling. “Please don’t tell me that means-”

Because before the dogs followed their inborn instincts of pack loyalty and such, see,” Fansworth explains. “And we couldn’t risk them harboring some obedience to the traitor Erin Quill. So with a slight modification of the serum that gave them sentience that flaw has been fixed. They now will obey only one man.

“Oh my-”

Sir Tyro Padelheb.

What do you do?

A: Refuse any aid whatsoever
B: Ask to have the dogs sent
C: Ask to have the Cherubs sent
Ω: Have David Eborrenial avert the last roll. This decision still comes up, however.

A. And tell them to kindly fuck off. (Don’t actually, that’s probably a bad idea, but I wish we could do that without worrying about possible repercussions. Because honestly, fuck those guys.)
We’ll send that news out to as many people as we possibly can, later.

EDIT: Blue, with everything you’ve done, want to know what you’ve given us?
Proper dramatic reason for Erin Quill to actually join the rebellion. And with him, Celling.
And with them, basically everything the “Republic” holds that isn’t Antarctica.

Yeah, I realized that. Thanks for rubbing it in, you ass.

I will take free-form suggestions on how we're going to attack the rebels.

EDIT: There are actually some good reasons why you shouldn't join the rebels. Firstly, note that there are only a few of them and they are the main characters. If there was a large, well rounded leadership it might be fine. But here you're dealing with three scared kids and a fanatic gun-toting grandpa. They won't believe that you turned, and they won't believe that the wormhole is going to blow up, they'll just keep making stuff up to keep up their worldview.

Remember, the Aesop of this entire thing is that when you believe in something completely and fanatically, people die.

Do you board from the side or from the front?

Also, what alley?

If they got into the smaller boat we will see when we arrive and they will be an easier target because they will not have any kind of cover besides their own bullets

the smaller boat can be staffed with US and some trusted men so we can sail fast and torpedo the boat they decide to use before we send the rest to use the other boat

if they already left the dock it's a chase scene

if they haven't already turned the boat on we can corner them inside it, but we will have or to spread them or to guess which boat they are

we can try the smaller boat first, if they're there they will be easier to corner or to sink the boat and make they to have a VERY disadvantageous position

Also, what alley?

There are boarding ramps at the front and left of the wide ship (fishing trawler), but it is a very low ship with no railings so you could just vault on.

There are some structures of various purposes lining the dock, the guard ran behind one of these. Specifically, a control box at the corner.

Alrighty then. A has been selected.

Celling processes the new information. “Thank you, Wenton, but we don’t really want or need any more help here.”

Fansworth sighs on the other side of the line. “You still don’t get it, Celling?”

“What don’t I get?”

“You don’t want Antarctica’s help here?” Fansworth says. “That doesn’t matter. I think you’re forgetting that I don’t take orders from you, Celling. I take them from Padelheb. And they are to catch those rebels, personally. I’m sending in the dogs and Cherubs now.”

The radio cuts off.

Celling swears.

By now Celling, and the eight police officers assembled on the dock, have reached the junction.

What is the next step?

A: Go down the side arm of the dock and try to see where the rebels are!
B: Get on the wide boat! They’re obviously heading there!
C: Secure the small boat! That’s the most likely they’ll take!
D: Wait for the reinforcements for now.
E: Split up and check as many places as possible.
F: Retreat to the shore. We can catch them elsewhere.

Can we just take one of the boats ourselves and get out of here?

EDIT: Wait yes we need to do this. The laws of comedy decree that if we do that, it’ll turn out that we coincidentally picked the boat the rebels are on, and there’ll be a long stretch of awkward silence as we steadily move away from any point where one of our groups could leave.

c Secure the small boat because it has weapons, and because they probably already got in the long boat and left
