The Adventures of Pik and Desli pt. III
When desli looked in her pack to give Pik his new swords, she found the die she had rolled. She didn't remember picking it up, and when Pik grabbed it, he too was cursed likewise. In a panic, knowing they could stay no longer, Pik gave lordship of the hamlet to one of the hearthpersons, and they left that night for the forests. Worse yet, they felt they could not afford to stay in the Realms of Silver.
They killed several boars as food, and fled across the Tundra of Heroes. The journey took several days, but the next full moon was still two weeks away. On the other side they soon found small pockets of civilization, and ruins thereof. Hamlets abandoned or destroyed, overrun by goblins and their trenches and towers. The goblins often attacked the duo, and both slew several on their journey to find peace. One holy figure, however, was welcoming of the outsiders, and told them about a special place, called a museum, in the castle of Boltspumpkin, where unique perspectives such as theirs were welcome. So the two traveled further north, and when they came to Boltspumpkin, they met the legendary Hand of Planegifts Lonelythrall the Hideous, who slew so many beasts as to change the world, and many other heroes. They explained their adventures, and their current predicament, and were warned to take flight deep into the forests where they could live in peace.
The two contributed their trophies to the museum, in a corner behind the main display pedestals.

They also stopped to read some of the various tales and treasure books in the museum, and Desli found a tome called Uncanny Death, a manual containing the secret of life and death. Enchanted by what she saw, she called Pik over and the two read and learned from the book. Then, they left.
Nearby, they stumbled upon the lair of a night creature called Nikor, and Pik slew the beast. This would be the last great fight of their adventures, as deep in the goblin-controlled forests they found a stream, and founded Jackaldens the Distant Hearth. Few besides goblins lived that far out.
Their relaxation was cut short, however, as despite being immortal, they must still breathe, and Desli fell under the bridge they built, and drowned. Pik jumped in, and resurrected her as a gaunt corpse, but he too drowned for having no skill in swimming, and desli was forced to resurrect him, too. The siblings live, or unlive, to this day in their home, where even goblin armies fear to tread.
