The Faceless Prince clasps their hands together.
Because after death, mortals are rather lacking in all those things such as hunger and malnutrition that necessitate actions taken to produce foodstuffs in the first place; the material needs of their bodies are left behind, while their souls are sent to their final destinations. Why obligate them to do such labor upon their death when it brings no great advantage to us or them to do so, rather than merely allowing them information and passage as desired by them? The point of the common plane is not to make mortals work for their final transit, it is primarily to sort them to the plane most befitting them. If you intend for mortals to spend their post-mortality time farming, then feel free to arrange your own plane that they may do so. But it is not the purpose of the common plane to promote some particular style of afterlife.

Suprisingly, I find myself agreeing with your point of view. Congrats.

As it appears we have stalled at a tie, and I do not believe that the common plane can actually be shifted in that state, despite my overall acceptance of either of the prevailing options at present, I suppose I should vote for my own proposal.

Twi, although I would provide a vote for your addendum, so long as the world remains in its present state, consensus will permit further alterations, and I rather suspect that in later epochs, even if we vote to allow such alterations then, they may not be possible.

"One such as this be having an idea for the plane that be shared, let this one show it."

Quote from: Shared plane
The Distorted Ways
Those dead who lack a distinct 'pre decided' afterlife will appear in this plane at a location that 'roughly' correlates with their point of burial, funeral, etc- with whatever was left with their body.  For the dead, dying 'again' results in them dissolving, and losing part of their memories to whatever, or whoever- killed them, before reappearing at their 'grave' between a few days and a few decades later.

The distorted ways is a dreamlike 'reflection' or 'shadow' of the main world, that is more 'correct' the more mortals live in and observe any given place, and the more mortals that have actually 'seen' a given place, with one exception- particularly "holy" locations relating to the various gods are always exactly as they are in the main world with only one difference- somewhere on the site, there is a one way "gateway" to the plane of the god (or gods, as it may be) that the site is devoted to.

appearing 'at' "holy" sites are "grave keepers" - faceless humanoid outsiders that trade various commodities and access to the other planes- in exchange for the various memories one has, the value of which to them doesn't come from rarity or importance, but rather how much the original owner 'valued' it.  additionally- they have the ability to grant their memory trading abilities to dead mortals.

Between the spaces that are well 'defined' are distorted spaces where the nature of space is 'fluid', where several miles can be a few steps- or for the unlucky, an inch can take several days of walking to pass through.

The 'border' between this shared plane and the main plane is thinned, such that openings can be made through which mortals may enter and exit- though they do no good for the dead who can't return to the main plane, for the mortals- this place is not meant for them, they can't be harmed by the dead, nor pass onto the other planes, the grave keepers won't even do business with them- but what they can do- is travel exceptionally long or dangerous paths exceptionally quickly by passing through places man has not seen.  Mortals have roughly 30 days they can stay upon this plane, before they start becoming truly "Acclimated" to the plane as their flesh is replaced with ghostly energy, and simply leaving becomes a gamble on whether or not any given part of their body simply dissolves into the air- 60 until their entire body is replaced bit by bit with matter that can't exist upon the main world.  Mortals that have "acclimated" are for all intents and purposes- dead, and are treated as though they were buried where they stood at the end of their 60th day by this plane.

...you want memory-and-afterlife-specialized Tradesmen?
What commodities are you expecting them to trade the dead, aside from the mentioned passage into the other planes?

Turn 2.0: Collabs and Combats

Look to the sky, way up on high!

Harvey Harvest popped a popcorn kernel into the Harvest Moon, a blue corn moon signaling the start of the Harvest Season.
Spoiler: Harvest Moon (click to show/hide)

Disappointed with the lack of madness, C'thun raised a baleful red star known as Space Madness. With the ability to enhance instinctive behaviors and corrupt mortals physically and mentally, its creation inspires much chagrin among the more benevolent gods.
Spoiler: Space Madness (click to show/hide)

To limit the corrupting influences of the heavens, Shinka etched a milky belt with a broadly neutralizing effect on other celestial features by way of tempering alterations and selecting against susceptibility to undue influences.

Ever detached from the petty squabbles of the foolish gods, Gibeele idly tossed a meat comet somewhere.
Spoiler: Meat-a-ball (click to show/hide)
The Eye opens a little in Gibeele's general direction for some reason.

Qwitzikottle saw this sad state of affairs, that it was bad, and loosed the Fang of Brutality, a rather infrequent comet heralding the coming of a powerful tyrant/conqueror.
Spoiler: Fang of Brutality (click to show/hide)
This was followed up with the Light of the Just, a variable star associated instead with the birth of a hero to fight tyrants and villains of all sorts.
Spoiler: The Light of the Just (click to show/hide)
The Fang drew mixed reactions from the other gods, with Gibeele disliking it, C'thun adoring it, and Twi taking the view that it wouldn't matter much to the gods too much either way.

The Wanderer launched the Star of the Weak, an unpredictable shooting star with the ability to relay single short messages from those unable to walk or speak. Strangely enough, the Wanderer offered to create a rebranded replica in bright red for C'thun. C'thun has yet to respond to this offer.
Spoiler: Star of the Weak (click to show/hide)

Perhaps troubled by the disharmony of the gods but not dissuaded by Shinka's Nine Pastures, Susan created the Chariot, a grossly incandescent whale-sun with the additional effect of encouraging jolly cooperation.
Spoiler: Chariot (click to show/hide)

Mapping the World

The Wanderer created five color-coded Guides, well-supplied riders capable of leading others on interplanar jaunts. The Blue, Grey, Brown, and Red Guides have been sent down to the mortal plane, while the Black Guide has been sent to explore the Plane of Wandering.
Spoiler: Guides (click to show/hide)

Workshopping

Twi created a blueprint for a more efficient mechanism for collecting, exchanging, and storing Soft Acts generated by mortals. Unfortunately, it appears not to have drawn any other investors. In light of this, Twi has forged Bladewing Armor, currently a lesser magic item. It is presumably unequipped, given its unfinished state and its potential for interfering with further progress.
Spoiler: Bladewing Armor (click to show/hide)

And Now You Know

Gibeele condensed the essence of magics and their weaknesses into a puzzling but informative treatise titled Half the Battle. Aila has received it and equipped it.
Spoiler: Half the Battle (click to show/hide)

Iä, iä, ʃшszשxskjշـشـschşშशsh fhtagn?

C'thun spent some time increasing R'lyeh's madness power and restoring it to its former insane glory. (-1 generic act, 8, target: 19)
Spoiler: R'lyeh (click to show/hide)

At the Faceless Prince's behest, Gibeele cleansed Space Love of C'thun's corruption, rendering it a harmless sky-fresco once again and gaining an incidental Knowledge act .
Spoiler: Space Love (click to show/hide)

Enraged by C'thun's insistence on placing cognitohazards with wild abandon, the Faceless Prince threw a conch infused with the power of a Trade Act into the Noise through Space Madness, shattering it into nothingness. Space Madness has been destroyed, but the conch sails onwards into the infernal Noise where it will surely not cause any problems down the road...

At this point, angered by gods not wanting mortals to go crazy, C'thun took its rage, imbued it into the Dweller of Misery, an Archangel of hatred and violence, and sicced it on Shinka after receiving another dollop of condescension. (To be resolved in T2.1)

The Cloud Distorts

On Shinka's orders or an interpretation thereof, the A-Team have taken the audacious step of claiming every comet in existence.

While no one was looking, Reaping Rachel disappeared from the Harvey Harvest Homestead and appeared near the wreck of Space Madness, scythe at the ready.

Aila has returned to Gibeele with a slightly outdated report on angel social psychology and left again to study the Pages in their natural environment.

The four Guides sent to explore the mortal plane have begun mapping out the cloud of islands, identifying things near and far. So far, they've found that the regions of dense islands can be simplified into 3-4 distinct layers divided into 4-6 sectors each.

The Emissary and Pages are shocked but relieved by Space Love's inexplicable restoration. They return to their Eye observations and estimate that the Eye will likely be fully open in 2-4 turns' time.

Qwitzikottle's motion to advance to the next age lies unopposed, but since a few things remain unresolved, this will be delayed by a half-turn of the cloud-that-was-disc. (To be resolved with combat in T2.1)

Astronomical Age
  • Creating suns, large moons, comets, stars, "planets," and constellations is possible only in this age.
  • Creating equipment and artifacts is possible in this age.
  • Destroying various astronomical bodies (i.e. repairing the crystal sphere :P ) is possible only in this age.
  • Assigning mechanical significance to astronomical bodies as a god is possible only in this age. Using suitable spheres is encouraged but not strictly required.
  • If more gods support than oppose a change to the shape of the world, it will be enacted.
  • If more gods support than oppose a change to the form or function of the common plane, it will be enacted.
  • It is not possible to create or terraform land/sea in this age.
  • Only the Archangel and War Form Incarna chasses are available in this age.
  • Only the Angel and Outsider servant chasses are available in this age.
  • When more gods support than oppose progression to the next age, it will be done.

Twi simply continues work on the Bladwing Armor, using their two Sphere Acts. (She is open to loans of Sphere Acts, to be repaid later with her own.)

Name: Bladewing Armor
Primary Actribute: Might
Effects:
+ Mortal-Aligned: Cleansed of Divine Influence, it serves as a bulwark against Godly energies. Specially suited to wear into combat, where ones wings, horn, an key points are protected. The armored wings cut deeply, and the horn pierces. Each hit has a chance to Banish, with the strength of the user determining the chance.
(New!) + Duality Negation: Imbued with two Spheres, that of Gods and Mortals. Together the two were forged against each other, rendering the Bladewing Armor extremely resistant to alteration and destruction from any source not mundane in nature. Only combat can damage it, no effects can inhibit it and it's wearer.
 - Mortal-Aligned: Due to it's nature of godly energy sliding off of it, repairing it is not easily done by godly hooves. When worn by a god it makes them mortal to, well, Mortals. It likewise reduces one's speed in exercising their divine might, though it is not impossible. Naturally altering the fit is impossible by gods alone, as is changing or destroying it. Not compatible with Divine-aligned items.(Which is anything not made with a Mortal Sphere by the gods)
Description: Crafted by Mortal Sphere, this armor takes on the appearance of plain copper polished bright gold in the light. By mortal standards it's extremely poor in combat, but against divine agents and gods can shrug off the strongest of divine blows and deliver Banishing Force. The Bladewings are quite intricate as well, easily fitting over one's wings, and the helm has a horn to channel that Banishing force. The flanks and torso are protected with plates linking over the back. The use of a God Sphere was to excise the godly energy and align it to Mortal realm. An Anti-God Armor whose banish effect is dependent on the strength of the wearer. This does not mean that a god wearing it is weaker at Banishing, as it is made to protect.

It is quite distinctly a 'cloud' of islands at present, and will remain as such unless consensus turns against it.

Anyway. C'thun. A suggestion, if you've calmed down: please don't send your archangel to attack anybody. Leaving that be will open up significantly more resources to do other things with, and will keep the watcher asleep a little longer.
Furthermore, there are ways to make things that will drive the mortals mad without directly damaging their minds in order to do so. Make a black hole, perhaps, or some other structure which just barely neglects to operate in a consistent manner. I assure you, people will drive themselves up the wall trying to figure out how they work, and no cognitohazards will have to be involved.
So please. Try those things instead.
