Alright new World, no more crazy looting/racing/boss fighting etc.

Mostly Building, trading, hell is fair game, jungle too. Dungeon is discouraged.

Er. Is there a way to make real walls and not just background walls?

Well, there's the normal blocks, many of which can be turned into bricks.

You know, I like to think of all the Castlevania III I've been playing lately (since I can't get Terraria yet) as training and psychological preparation for when I go down to flood/mine hell.

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

I just began playing today. I'm creating a bit of an inverted tower - my house is two stories above the ground and is extending below as far as I can go. Anyway, I found a bit of a... surprise in my basement.

It was originally submerged and not hovering, but a handful of bombs took care of that.

After mining meteorite with bombs and TNT I can never go back. I may do this for hellstone mining as well.

I've been doing that when I need lots of stone. It is pretty tedious after you've used dynamite, to go back to using a pick to mine.

Bombs can't clear hellstone, though dynamite I believe can. Bombs are still useful for controlled explosions to clear out ash surrounding hellstone though. And using dynamite in underworld is a bit tricky, what with all the lava, so be cautious about it...

Free-to-play games are like the fountains in NetHack. At first, they look refreshing, but when you approach snakes pour out and eat you.

So I already have Terraria, but I wanted to buy a four pack to give to a few of my friends, and then give the extra to the DF community, right? Turns out you can't buy the 4-pack if you already own the game.

In case anyone from the server is reading. Windows keep freezing Terraria and I have no idea why. When i restarted steam, terraria updated, apparently. Trying to get set back up now.

Edit: Restarting computer, maybe that'll fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yeah, it just froze for me. That seems to be "update time" for Terraria: whenever it decides to crash outright.
