Lots of folks at terrariaonline bandy about November/December release. That place makes my head hurt so I don't follow enough to know the sources.

In all honesty, having a Demon Altar right under your house is extremely unusual as they normally only appear in The Corruption (the purple-ish area that is fairly dangerous to low-level characters without grappling hooks).

Also, why is noone on the Dwarf Fortress Community server? The IP is 24.4.146.220 on the port 7777. Not telling you the password.
We've recently had a griefer attack, so some things around spawn are very broken, but it's not too bad, really. Well, except for the hellevator suddenly ending in lava, so be careful.

They're not that rare outside of the Corruption.
I've always seen/found at least one on every map, if not more. They only appear in a very short band just below the sea level altitude.

Unless they changed it since I last played anyway. They were pretty common in older worlds.

Oh, really? Sorry, I didn't know. I just find it a bit sad that the server is always super empty and not everyone is in the DFC steam group.
