Water is infinite if there's a lot of water that is out of "refresh" range or whatever. The system will keep "moving" water from there to where you are, but will not drain the source.

Whenever you save and load a World, it does this "settling liquids" thing that precalculates all fluids in the world and how they should be when you log in.

It's still possible. It's much harder now though. You have to use a pump hooked to two or more outputs.

The ones in the lava section are all hooked to a 3 second timer. I think the timer is in a separate box so it can be removed and changed without it being destroyed, since the pumps are obviously lava-proof.

Isn't it great when you come back to something after a while and wonder what your past self was thinking?

Also, the manual way still works as of 1.1.x as well, as I used it in my most recent game where I realised I hadn't actually done Hardmode stuff yet. (ie. 1-block 'reservoir', with a large drop - into a holding tank - adjacent to one edge of the reservoir, place and re-take lava from the top of that edge block, re-collecting it once a 'drip' has fallen away into the tank).

Note that whilst it works, this does not make it less tedious to do.

Are there plans for a  Bay12 server for 1.2? I've been getting back into Terraria since 1.2 was announced.

Forsaken has said, several times, he'll host one.
But, I think the real question everyone's wanting to know is will there be a Bay12 server?

Just find a big pocket of water in the caverns and drill up from underneath.

That might be something I could do after I finish harvesting dungeon bricks. I'm reinforcing the new base I built in the snow biome west of the spawn point in Athelod and building tunnels underneath it to allow for easier passage for both players who don't have grappling hooks or rocket boots as well as for anything that spawns during a blood moon or invasion.

Are there plans for a  Bay12 server for 1.2? I've been getting back into Terraria since 1.2 was announced.

I won't be able to do a dedicated server without upgrading my RAM unless if I can run a dedicated server and also run other games at the same time. I'm kind of partial to The Sims 3 and a handful of other games and I like to play those when I'm not playing Terraria. I'll let you guys know after I do some testing and experimentation this week or weekend.

So I was wondering if there was going to be a Bay12 server, I haven't seen any mention of it at all.

I actually got that joke.
