Indeed. I used to play on mediumcore, but since expert mode I've reverted back to easy. You just die too much, especially in the beginning.

It's mostly exploring in / through areas way out of my current league. Like DISGUSTING ANTLION HIVES or Marble biomes, or the Crimson.
