Can someone explain to me why any two creatures cannot stand up while occupying the same tile, but one tile can contain a literal infinite amount of items/objects/creatures, regardless of size?

Why can't I build walls on constructed floors, but I can on smoothed floors?

Why do objects fall through magma pipes unharmed, vanishing once they reach the Semi-molten rock layer?

Why do dwarves refuse to place things in bins/barrels/jugs when hundreds are available and needed in multiple stockpiles?

Don't ask, you don't want to know.
Because that defeats the purpose of floors.

Why is minecart-ing said to be so important if I've ran fortresses relatively long without using any?

The best way to demonstrate it to him is take a save of 40 year old fortress with 150 dwarves in it on a good sized embark with a volcano that just breached the circus and install it on his gaming rig and watch it bring his rig to its knees.

The real world got on for ages without automobiles. They still changed the world.

Why do all fruits spawn and drop at the same time of year, no matter the biome?

They're running from the elves.

Why do dwarves barf at the sun if they like it so much?

Prepared meals are incredibly valuable, and the dwarves want to offer up to the sun the most valuable thing they have on them, which is usually the last meal they ate.

Why do dwarves not care that they are on fire.

Also, if you ever figure out why poets/bards/dancers just randomly start butchering people/getting butchered, please don't fix it, I love never knowing when a dance party will turn into a slaughter.

They're too busy choking on smoke underground.

Why can possessed children only make stone, bone, or wood crafts?

I'd guess it was something to do with natural skill or something. Crafting is something dwarves are good at, and the possessing spirits know this.

Why is it that military dwarves often aren't wearing all of their equipment, despite it showing up with a green checkmark on the military screen. Even when the greaves have been individually assigned?

They have the equipment assigned to them. However, they have forgotten to put it on in all the excitement. Additionally, their gear may be somewhere that they cannot reach, or forbidden.

Why haven't I found a Candy Demon yet? (That is, a Demon made of Candy).

The purple overseer hat weights heavily on one's head. Some would argue that the leadership of Doomforest is uneasy to bear for too long. Others would simply suggest that we don't craft the next overseer hat out of rutile.

Demons? Everybody knows about those, right? But Candy is too spoilerish for this thread, obviously.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

About an eight of a door, or, depending on how you do it, many many doors (up to the doorway's maximum load).

How, exactly, does a god begin by pondering the ineffable subtleties of fish and come to the conclusion that releasing a demon into the world would be a good idea?

Huh?  They're in the world, but they just want to stick around your fortress.  Player fortresses are such hellholes that it feels like home, and acts as a strange demon attractor, keeping them from traveling far away.

Why don't dwarves like elves?  They don't like buying wood.  So what?  Real dwarves don't use wood for much but beds, barrels and bins.  Stone crafts and metal goblets they like best, indeed.  And they bring alcohol, cloth, and tame animals that can be trained into a veritable ARMY.  And the "100 trees limit" isn't so bad anymore.  Seriously, I've chopped down maybe like 40 trees in my current fortress over the last four years.
