If it's as half as tasty as the ham I had yesterday then it has every damn right to be happy, because it is a good little ham!

Also doodles!

No, it's happy because someone just removed the slice of ham that was blocking its face.

It's not that complicated honestly. The farther it is, the more desaturated it is. The further it is it also becomes lighter, so the value range shrinks towards the horizon. Warm light gives cool shadows and vice versa. Desaturating warm colours cools them off and gives their complimentaries while desaturating warm colours warms them up and also gives their complimentaries (this is best when you place them next to each other).

Other than that study clouds and whatnot.

And speaking of studies, I felt I needed to vary it up a bit from the usual deal so I did a part study part cloud day thing based on a Monsted piece:

For something that is not a doodle, I made this on my friend's minecraft survival server:
Spoiler: My Soon-to-be House (click to show/hide)
I quarried out a chunk (with stone tools) down to layer 5, and then made the four polished andesite posts, for the outline of my 6x6x65ish house, so now all I have to do is get more ink sacks for the stained glass floors, and slime blocks for the piston elevator (the stairs are only temporary).

poor guy has no ears though :<

If i were to offer a bit of unsolicted criticism, it would be that his eyes are a bit high up on his head. The eyes on a realistically proportioned human face (such as the face of your manly officerman) is actually pretty much smack in the middle of the heads height; one way this COULD be is like so:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Then the eyebrows line the top of the "dome", and the nose and mouth are... Somewhere below the eyes. I just wing those two, honestly, although as it happens, it tends to vary with real faces as well. Another fancy rule i remember is that the top of the ears are roughly in line with the eyes, even though it feels totally wrong to place facial features that far down. That is how it works though, unless you're going for a stylized look, in which case you can generally get away with less realistic proportions. :v

also while i'm on the topic of faces i doodled a face that makes me giggle

Never had a people-drawing class, but from staring at and doodling people when I should have been studying, I've noticed that (neutral) eyebrows always seem to line up with the top of the ears, and the bottom of the nose with the bottom of the ears.

but does this mean that people with huge noses have huge ears as well???

????????

Seems like a neat rule of thumb, gotta remember that one. c:

If you don't mind, I am placing that image in my sig so I can use it when appropiate.
Go right ahead, i'm only happy that people can use my dumb doodles for something. :v

From what I've observed, yes. Well, tall ears at least.

Lighting effects are fun to mess around with.

For effect, imagine a demon of some kind standing in the middle.
