Arx: I think the man's face stubble should be of differing lengths. Each strand looks roughly the same.

It should be more blocky. Even if it's stubble a simple grey-shade will go a long way to imply a 5-o clock shadow.

An aarloi stalker? :P Looks neat. Any plans to do a slightly cleaned-up version? I'd like to see it, if you do.

I have incorporated this, along with Jopax's tips (to some degree, anyway...)

Feedback still much appreciated. I may not work on this one much more, but you can be sure that I'll file it for future use.

Edit:

Spoiler: Finished, I guess. (click to show/hide)

It's good man. Excellent use of Palette I think. Shading is good in some places, needs work in others. And Eyes and Mouth, but you knew that. On the whole the pretty damn good... better than me... I should start using my tablet again.

Poor guy needs eyes. Well, either that, or pull a Darkest Dungeon and make the shadow so violent that no eyes are ever drawn. :v
Anyhoo, doin' pretty good! One question though: Does the shield have a pointy top? Because if not, the perspective is waaaaaaaaay off. Also a bit of an odd pose on the legs, but i reckon that's a bit too late to fix now. Gotta say though, the folds on the pants are really good, so extra props on that!

meanwhile comrade shook experiments

Spoiler: mean ungulate (click to show/hide)

More specifically did i experiment to see if i could make thick lines and painty shading work together. I like it myself, but i don't know what the common consensus is. :U

i have no idea how to paint fur

The perspective and shading make it look kind of like a 3D model, sorta reminiscent of old Runescape.

Mm, I couldn't be bothered to draw a proper face. It's a terrible habit of mine. :/ Eventually my dribs and draps of practice working on faces will actually get me somewhere. Thank you for the kind words! It's nice to know my practice is paying some level of dividends.

Like I said, he does need eyes. Just imagine him like one of those horrifying mannequins some clothes shops have, where there are defined lips and a nose but just smooth plastic where the eyes should be. :P

And I retroactively ruled the shield to be pointy a couple of days ago, when I noticed the same thing...

Thank you, too, for the praise. I'm really proud of his left leg. It's omfortably my favourite part of the piece. :P

I really dig it. The thick lines and high-contrast, heavy brush strokes work together well.

The best way to do fur IME is to shade lightly several times with a narrow brush. Might not be best though. vOv

And quick anatomy quibble, there should probably be a bit more of the back right haunch visible. Not a huge amount, just a little.

Fakeedit: Ooh, Hugo, that is gorgeous. Are you modelling that yourself, or just placing them, or...?

For which I constructed the somewhat pretentious flavour text

Our strongest and wisest go out into the sands, alone. They come back enlightened. They speak to us of our gods.

The weaker that go out… they, too, come back. But they can teach us nothing, save, perhaps how to mix fear and pity.

I'm just working with vanilla assets from the main game and the DLCs for now. But even with vanilla stuff it's fun to see how stuff can be stuck together in new ways

Nice job on the Skyrim modding. Worldbuilding is fun... I wish there was just like a game that was the TESeditor, and you had to build a world. Man, I wish that stuff was more prized. Sadly, I can't really do much of it on my mac (other than MC, but... no one really USES or plays or appreciates what you build there.)

Should've asked for a portable scanner for Christmas.

Anyways, my first assignment for the semester was a profile drawing and two perspectives of our choice of one of number of different drawing prompts, and it included a horror-themed dentist chair.

AIDS-chair from Warframe came to mind (minor spoilers), and I had to do a zombie-chair.

I, too, do not wish to visit the dentist.

Quick painty doodle. Practicing dat shine, since all sorts of things have compound reflections and slimy things are probably the easiest of them to draw. :P

Kinda night creature-esque.
