smh next thing you know we'll be seeing canonical stories about the sacred love between a castrated weeb ex-Guardsman and his Fire Caste lover.

Or Slaaneshi infiltration of a SoB fortress concluding in a rockin' party that gets crashed by Grey Knights.

That's impossible, as Tau cannot feel love.

See, the thing I actually really like about romance set in 40k is that it's such a good juxtaposition. You have the absolute grimdark misery that is the setting, but with that familiarity of love. Even when its just filthy xenos or whatever loyalistfriends like to say.

part of 40k grimdark is how meaningless everyone is.

to put it into perspective.

-human egalitarianism today, in western 1st world countries, is at its highest it will ever be.  its all downhill imto fiefdom from here.

-people in 30k literally live their lives under a master they never see, and can live in a spaceship and never see the outside once.  billions.

-hereditary tradition reasserts itself with a vengence.  noble or nothin.

-even nobility does not guatentee you any security.

-people dedicate themselves to a cause to be known.  and even then, only the best go anywhere.  with its clusterfuck of 'every tabletop battle is true and every rp is true' the imperium swallows you whole.

-die with honor?  haha, that implies youll be honored after death.  its a wonder there arent more nihilists.

40k is such a gaping maw that sucks out your soul.  youre nothing but what you make of it.  stoicism should be at a high, and two of these billions of billions lost souls finding each other and overcoming their lonliness and angest long enough to bonds gives hope.

hope to the God of Hope and Order

That's probably not true, the DAoT is the peak. Humanity existed in a united federation, enlightened and with almost total control of the galaxy.

Then the Eldar murderfucked Slaanesh into existence, and that was when it all went downhill.

Oh my, how...  terrible...
Or Slaaneshi infiltration of a SoB fortress concluding in a rockin' party that gets crashed by Grey Knights.
Things initially appeared to be much better than expected, but only because people have forgotten the dubbing horror of the syncopatic Sound Marines.
Also the grey knights killed literally everyone, leaving themselves for last.

Actually humanity got murdered by the men of iron around that time, so odds are it wasn't that good. Between them and the warp storms. Hell, I'm fairly sure that it was the birth of slaanesh which dispelled the warp storms over terra.

Besides, 40k has it easy compared to 30k. Atleast the orks happen to be dumb and small (for orks anyway.)

I find the mention of Love Can Bloom as something that involves good love interesting because I only remember the parody version, in which the tau and guardsman is shot by a commissar and the area burnt to ashes.
Just before the kiss, too.

I don't agree with Imaginary Him.
Also, It's Eldar and Vindicare Assasin, not Guardsman.
